I came across some things I didnt know yet about some commands, thought I'd share it:

If you summon an eidolon the damage actually depends on how many gems you have in stock who have affinity to that eidolong. For example Bahamut will do more damage if you got 99 Garnet in stock. Leviathan will splash his enemies if you got 99 aquamarines and so on. Your spell power raises with 1 point for every gem you got =). This counts for eiko as well. Some eidolons cant increase damage (carbuncle p.e.) so it doesnt count for them. For Ark the associated gem is lapis lazuli.

Odin will have a bigger chance of instant-death'ing his opponents if you got a lot of ore, but if you got odin's sword ability checked on it's better to have not many ore as your damage will decrease if you got more ore.

Soul Blade gets following description in the game: Draws out the hidden power of thieves, what it actually does is giving you a 100% chanc eof inflicting the added status effect your weapon has. If that's Death or Petrify this is actually pretty nice =).

Thievery causes an amount of damage depending how many items Zidane has already stolen and his speed.

Six Dragons mistery:
1) 30% chance HP and MP is fully restored.
2) 35% chance that nothing will happen.
3) 35% chance HP and MP is reduced to 1.

If you got a lot of phoenix pinions in your inventory, you got eiko in your party and all your characters get ko'd there's a chance that phoenix will be automatically summoned and revive your characters without eiko haveing to use MP. Small chance tho with 99 phoenix pinions the chance is less than 1/2, it's around 1/2.5.

Hope you found out some things you didnt know yet =)

very good infos. thanks. ^_^

I've seen before that phoenix automatically revive all my characters. uh how about eiko's ability Guardian Mog?

That ability removes any status effect that is on eiko after the battle automatically except for KO (virus,petrify,darkness,venom,...)

Man these are sweet I want to start playing this game again. I just kind of soldiered through it the first time around, so I want to really play around with the abilities and stuff.

How do you get large amounts of stuff like Lapis Lazuli, I thought there was a limited number?

Some related bits of information derived from Final Fantasy Online and the Battle Mechanics Guide on GameFAQs:

If a shortened summon animation is shown, damage is reduced by a third. This applies to all summons except Carbuncle, who doesn't deal damage anyway.
By equipping Eiko with different gems, you can change the effect of Carbuncle so that it casts Vanish (Diamond), Haste (Emerald) or Shell (Moonstone) instead of Reflect. In each case, Protect is also added if the full animation is shown (except, IIRC, if Carbuncle hasn't been summoned before during the game).
Equipping Maiden's Prayer on Eiko allows Fenrir to do a wind attack instead of an earth attack.
The maximum probability of an auto-Phoenix is 39% to the nearest integer.
Phoenix cannot be powered up.
Madeen does not have an associated gem. Instead, it's spell power is 71 + Eiko's level.
Soul Blade does not work with daggers.
Add Status does not work with thief swords.
The damage formula for Thievery is (Number of Successful Steals * Zidane's Speed)/2. Steals made by the other members of Tantalus count.

Very good info... I did know about equipping gems to effect Carbunkle.Though I did not have an exact list or anything, I just kinda goofed and figured there was a difference. But I had no idea the amount of certain items carried had any effect on the amount of damage dealt by an eidolon. Makes since now that I think about it.

THANKS!!

Dropped by Ash, and Behemoths.
Synth an Ore and a Dead Pepper at the Black Mage Village (Disc 4) or Hades's Synthesis Shop.
Find 41 by using a Dead Pepper at the mountain crack located on the eastern part of the Lost Continent.
Give the Friendly Feather Circle 1 Moonstone on the Lost Continent

That's how you acquire Lapis Lazuli, 99 is the limited number for all items.

I thought maybe you there were only like 10 or so of each stone available in the game.

I really want to find a memory card so I can play this again now.

I see Atomos hasn't been mentioned. I'll explain him. :)

He takes 30% of the monster's total health plus the number of amethysts you have. So if you have 70 amethysts then he'll take 100% of their health. Obviously, he can't so more than 9999 . But still 9999 every time isn't too bad.

If you only get the short animation the formula is a third of that. So 10% plus a third of the amethysts you have %.
