So, I'm sure a lot of people were shocked when the second time you face off against Demyx, he's actually hard. I freely admit that going against him was the first time I got repetitive game-overs in my first play through of KH2. The first fight against Demyx around the beginning of the game was basically making use of the reaction command to destroy his water clones, and you don't even fight Demyx himself, but the second fight was a surprise, for sure.

However, despite Demyx's strength in the second battle, the main reason why I had kept losing the fight to him was because he will summon his water clones and your given, I think, 10 seconds to destroy them, otherwise it's a game-over for you.

Now this is just a game, and things don't have to make sense, but I can't help but apply this situation realistically. So what exactly would happen if you fail to destroy all the water clones within the time limit? What could possibly happen that it would end up as a game-over in the first place if you can't manage to finish the last water clone off, eh?

Well, that's my rant.

If the water clones are given the time to complete their evolution (ten seconds), they will turn into hulking super-beings capable of mass destruction. It's imperative that you destroy them in time. The game over screen spares the viewer from watching Sora and company get torn into bloody pieces.

Yeah...just added for shits n' giggles. That's the only way the developers could make any boss on that game remotely difficult, so they went for it. Yaaay.

Ugh, I love Demyx's character but I detest fighting him for this very reason. I can handle it (sometimes) if I lose because I get my ass beat for being a n00b and actually die. But getting a game over because I couldn't string together enough reaction commands in time is just bullshit, for lack of a better word. And it was all luck really, because even if you nailed all the reactions, if the forms happened to be spread out too much you still wouldn't get them in time.

But I just replayed it a couple weeks ago and managed to only get one game over against his second form...I think it's because I was higher leveled and had that ability that increased the duration of reactions.

I never had any trouble. Sure, it was a little bit harder, but, seriously, I really didn't have any issues with him second time round :)

I saw the game over screen way too much on this fight, and it was all the more irritating because it wasn't Demyx killing me it was the sodding time running out. It was SO infuriating, I swear all I did throughout this game was swear :stare:

Realisticly, if time ran out, Im with VoN's idea :neomon:

If anything, I found his bubble attacks annoying, simply because he uses them as a counter move. Not to mention they kill you in 3-4 hits. The 10 second thing is easy once you know how to.

As for the actual game over thing, well, as stated before, they probably put it in there to make the battle harder.

I found Demyx harder than Xaldin. I hated when he started to walk towards you while creating a water wall. I died like three times in battle, and thats not because of 10 seconds thing but because he used his skills one after another very quick.

His actual attacks were nothing more than a nuisance to me. Soon as one of his water walls or chain of bubbles smacked me into the air I'd just lock onto him and counter with an Aerial Spiral. If I started getting low on health a nice Leaf Bracer + Cure did the job just fine. If they killed you in 3-4 hits I'd say you were just underleveled.

To me he was kind of a wimp when it came to fighting, I just had trouble killing all those stupid forms because you have to make sure that when you're swinging one around you hit all the others when they're clustered together, and it's kinda hard to control the water form. So if they spread out and I couldn't wipe out enough I was pretty much screwed.

Demyx harder then Xaldin?! That I find extremely hard to believe. I stopped playing KH2 because of Xaldin :/

Yeeeeah. Xaldin is absolutely horrid if you haven't been doing alot of leveling. He even gave me trouble on my most recent file, and I was over-leveled. So yeah, I'm gonna stick with my previous statement and just assume you were under-leveled when you fought Demyx.

Bah, Xaldin was easy like a Dusk for me :neomon:. His attacks were all avoidable with simple Guard, and his attack with spear dragon breath is avoided by only one Reflect. I coulda beat him without getting damage, but I didn't foresee his jump attacks. And through all thet 2 min battle I used Cure spell only once, and I was like level 35.

That uber dragon move raped me constantly. I didn't know Reflect took care of it....although I've never actually USED Reflect. Geez, that might make Sephiroth easier too if it can block uber moves :wacky:

Can't say I ever used reflect once, I just got raped the whole way through this game though, I can see Dave at the bottom of the screen and everytime Im in one of these freds complaining, I wanna kill him -__-

I don't think i ever blocked either. It's no wonder I had such a hard time really

Demyx and Xaldin were definately the most annoying for me really. I just wanted to punch Demyx in the gob when the time kept running out, I swear those stupid forms disbanded on purpose and mocked me from a distance, they NEVER seemed to be together when I used my reaction command, I was just spinning around hitting nothing and screaming about how much I was gunna kill him :gasp:

The forms? o_O You mean those stupid DBZ-style fusions? You're not supposed to use those in boss-fights unless you're really leveled, it's too dangerous otherwise. And your reaction commands SHOULD have been connecting...unless it was the Jump command, in which case you need to lock onto a target first.

Well, I am glad I shared some of my wisdom with you people ;)

I never even touched magic aside from Cure, so I had no idea wtf Reflect even did and didn't bother finding out :wacky:

I mean those stupid thingies that Demyx spewed out and you had like 10 seconds to get rid of them. It drove me up the wall, they just wouldn't keep still -__-

Hah me too :wacky:

Ohhh, those bastards. Did you have the Reaction Boost equipped? It makes your reaction commands deal moar damage so you can kill those things faster while you try desperately to steer the one you're latched onto. I swear it would have been so much easier if it wasn't so hard trying to control where Sora aimed the water forms. Plus you can't just smash Triangle every time you see it, you need to run around a bit and lure them close together, THEN you can hit Triangle when they're clusterfucking and take down a bunch. I know, seems like it would waste time, but in the end you save time.

In the event that I'm outta MP with dangerously low HP, I'll initiate a form just to regain my health. Otherwise, I agree. Using drive forms in a boss fight will especially bite you in the ass if you're unfortunate enough to get the Anti form. Can't use magic or dismiss. I hate that goddamn form.

O.O Anti-Sora. I hated getting that :ffs: The only reason I used drive forms was to level up those abilities like high-jump and glide. That's it...

As for Demyx, I had no problem with him. I died maybe twice then he was a breeze after that. I could see where others would have problems with him. But Xaldin practically handed my ass to me! He was über annoying.

I actually liked the anti-form, it was fast and had uber aerial combos. I'd just pwn stuff too fast for it to hurt me, and if things got bad I'd just run around erratically so nothing could hit me. Actually I turned into anti-form against that huge dragon heartless in the Land of the Dragons, that kinda sucked since I couldn't even use the tornado reaction command to launch myself into the air. I broke my own rule against not fighting bosses in forms :wacky:

Well...I did turn into Master form for like the last 10 seconds of the fight against Demyx, just because I felt like completely crushing and humiliating him...and I like seeing Sora's outfits change in the cutscenes.
