I'm pretty sure that I have made a food thread before so I could get some recipes from you guys, but...here's a more authentic one. ^.^

I'm looking for the best of the best. The most scrumptious meals that you've ever tasted. When and where, and what makes them so delicious?

The best food I have ever tasted is spaghetti. Regardless of where it's from, or who made it, Spaghetti is one of the only foods that I could eat every day for the rest of my life.
When I make spaghetti myself, I use brown gravey and water to make the sauce a little more runny. I prefer meat sauce over meatballs, and I prefer shell noodles with my spaghetti. ^.^

Not spaghetti but fetuccine. <3

I love fetuccine alfredo, it's just delicious.

But other than that, I'll have to go to oriental dishes to be able to honestly answer this topic. :P Orange chicken, honey chicken, and dumplings come to mind right off the bat.

What makes them delicious? It's the taste of course. ^^
But also texture. Not too crunchy, not too soft. :monster:

I'm not even quite sure what a dumpling is. Care to enlighten? ^.^

Dumplings have different versions...well, through experience, I've found out that there are different varieties, but basically it's a small ball of meat/seafood packed inside a sheet of flour (I have no clue what you call it, but it's a small square of flour).

It's then boiled or fried.

It looks like this:

Seriously though, they're good. <3

I have never heard of a pot sticker either...aren't they called postickers? XD

I have had dumplings in soup before, but I have never had them stuffed with meat. I thought that they were made of flower, but I wasn't quite sure. ^.^

Haha. Potstickers are the fucking shit. I insist on those every time I go to Panda Express. Well, every time I order a 3-item combo anyhow. Usually the first two items are always orange chicken and the eggplant tofu.

I'm not much of a cook unfortunately. So I really couldn't exchange any useful recipe. My general grocery shopping is about typical of any single male lol. Lots of frozen burritos, corndogs, frozen pizzas, etc. About the only thing I do actually cook up are steaks, but I usually just grill em up on my george foreman grill with nothing more elaborate than salt and pepper and a bit of A1 sauce when it's done. Rice and ground-up hamburger meat is fairly simple and it's real damn cheap, too. If I want to spice that up a little I'll dump in some turkey-gravy to the concoction. Cream of mushroom soup with only 1/4 a can of milk instead of the 1/2 it recommends gives it a gravy-like thickness and works in there, too.

Crème brûlée is one of the best desserts ever. It's freaking terrific. Who cares if it's French? It's good.

Sushi is one of my favorite foods. I could probably eat it every day if I had to. I enjoy plain white rice. If I'm hungry and I don't feel like pigging out on anything bad... I'll just make a big bowl of rice and chop that down. The raw fish used to bother me but it really doesn't anymore.

Calamari is another one of my favorite foods that I don't get to indulge in very often. If it's made well it's absolutely terrific. If it's not then it's terribly disgusting. I usually wait until I go to a city like Chicago to order calamari.
