First of all, I can appreciate that the RPG is new and the members have gone nuts over it. Well done and thank you to the RPG Moderators, while I'm here. You've done a great job with it.

Now, I'd like to quote my welcome message today (you know, the "Welcome back, so-and-so!" part):

Welcome back, Riku! There have been 46 posts and 6 threads since your last visit at 12:36 AM, January 3, 2007.

Posts in last 24 hours: 324

Usually, each number is around about double this ^ I'm a little worried about what the RPG will do to the forum itself. I've visited the forums all day and there's never been any new posts, other than the odd few. I first came online today at around 2:30 GMT and there had been around 252 posts "In the last 24 hours". Now, there's hardly a huge increase since then, is there?

I'm not complaining about the RPG at all, I'm just showing concern that it may cause a decline in the number of regular posters in the forums, at least until they all complete it. This may only be a temporary situation, but still, it's a situation all the same. If posts continue to decline, I was going to suggest only allowing the RPG to be accessed 4/7 days or something, or only accessing it X number of times a week.

I realise I sound quite idiotic to you all right now, but does anyone at least see what I'm talking about?

Well, the RPG is somewhat time consuming and will lower post count. That is why my post count is so pathetic. I understand your concern. In v2.4, you could set a battle limit. At the moment there isnt such a setting. But there could be a time limit set. Just an idea. It would need to be presented to ZT though.

Of course the sudden rush to the RPG may calm down in time and things will return to normal. It has been a long wait and it has only been online for a few days. :)

I can understand where you are coming from Riku. But I really think it is just due to the anticipation of it. RPG use will almost certainly decline over time as the "newness" of it wears off, and everyone becomes more familiar with it and the gameplay.

However, I do not think any kind of restrictions are a good idea. I can already seeing everyone complaining already if such restrictions were implemented. And I mean think about it, if somebody has a day off, they post their "normal" amount, and just want to spend some of their free-time in the RPG leveling up, let them! I for one would be sort of pissed if I could only fight so many battles per day or access it certain days. I mean, do we really want to come across here as the mean parents here dictating when and how long the kids can play their video games each day? I don't think so.

I agree. Everyone has been waiting for the RPG to come back online for a while now. Everyone probably wants to just get stuck into it right away and test it out. As Garnet mentioned, it'll wear off eventually. Things like that always do.

I wouldn't worry too much about it Dave. Not everyone wants to participate in the RPG anyway, so members will still be posting. I myself am staying away from the RPG, so you'll see me posting. :]

I think if you didn't already dislike the RPG, Riku, you wouldn't be so eager to put restrictions on it...
I don't dislike it as such, and I'm hardly "eager" to put restrictions on it. What, you think I'm making numbers up, or something? I just personally can't be bothered with it again, seeing as I already had a decent run through it last time.

I know one thing. The main sb is being clogged with a lot of RPG talk. ;)
