My husband bought this game for himself and about an hour into it, I actually found myself amused with this survival horror (with a lot of humor) game. Basically, the main character Frank West is stuck on a mall with various zombies, among with several survivors that need rescuing, naturally.

There are many items you can use in order to kill the zombies and their usage is actually pretty entertaining. For instance, you can take CDs and throw it at them, staggering them a tad bit. (It's pretty funny to watch). Or you can take flower pots and smash it at them. My favorite one is the lawn mower. Run those zombies down! And I thought the most funniest one was the soccer ball. Kick it and a bunch of zombies fall down like pins - much like Shaolin Soccer style. :wacky:

I refuse to play the game since I'm really not into actually playing these type of games, but I do like watching someone else play it. It really is pretty good if you're looking for some pure entertainment.

Mitsuki I can see how you do not like shooting games, they are just so fun. Maybe you should try out some like Halo 3 or Call of duty 4 or cod world at war. Dead rising is really scary but if you want to something even more play gears 2.

I hate this game with a fucking passion. I've never understood how people like it. The control scheme is clunky and poor in general, main characters respawn after they've died, weapons degrade far too fast, and the main character runs like he just took a MAJOR shit in his pants.

I understand the fun in sandbox games. I understand the fun in killing zombies... but the game plays so badly that it's an exercise in frustration just trying to do anything. People who typically enjoy these types of games are not hardcore gamers. There is a lot of instant gratification so it feels fun without having to do a lot... but there's no substance to the game and if you were to analyze its individual parts it falls FAR SHORT of a good game.

yeah, dead rising is a cool game. I just like the fact that hes 1 of the few people left. The fact that he has to kill all these zombies at the mall. I cant figure out how to beat the guys who shoots at us I always die. But other than that I think the game is great.

I like dead rising for many reasons. One of the things that I like about it is that you have to try to save the one dude who got attacked by the other dude with a gun. But when I got to that part I had 1 piece of health left. So when I moved one step I got shot in the shoulder and died.>.> I hate it that when you get out of the mall you have to re-enter the mall on the other side and there are all these zombies but I like to mow them with the lawn mower :D.

Overall its a decent game.

i love dead rising. *Grabs katana and swings it until it dissapears... then drinks "untouchable" juice and legs it*

Mod Edit: Please add a bit more effort to your post as this is considered spam. Thanks.

It seriously doesn't bother anyone that a steel battle axe breaks to pieces after about ten hits against fleshy partially disfigured zombies. It's like having a steamroller break after it rolled over a marshmellow. It's just stupid...

This game is good, but I can see how it gets boring after a while. If you want to play a better zombie game, pick up Resident Evil 4.

It's a pretty good game. I mean, it's fun and all, and I had many laughs playing throughout it, but I found that it was a good that I could play for no more than 1-2 hours at a time, else my mind would wander and lose interest.

It is pretty amusing trying out all the different possibilites to kill the zombies. My personal favourites have to be the lawnmower and the garden scissors. ^.^

The lawnmower is great, but blood gets all over the place. The sporting goods store is the place to get all the good weapons, everything's there.
