Alright, I decided to load up and play my old file again after not even touching it since around mid-december.

I have been going back and putting the time and effort into the other weapons that I am missing (Tournesol & Danjuro). I didn't wanna do it back then cause I realized you would have to sell and make a lot of different crap in the Bazaar just for Tournesol, it reminds me of the Synethesith shop from KH2 and the trouble I went for Ultima Weapon but it seems more complicated in FFXII, I didn't feel like Item Hunting and back then no one figured out how to obtain Danjuro.

Anyways, I just want to know if Danjuro is worth my time? I've already killed LarvaEater so many times and a majority of the time he doesn't drop anything. When I see that +80 Damage it doesn't exactly put a smile to my face. But then again I begin to wonder if it has any Stat Boosts or Status Effects (Like how WyrmHero Blade has Faith & Bravery even though it doesn't say it unless you equip it).

Or... is Danjuro your typical Dagger? Equippable with a Shield, weaker than a one handed sword but fast at attacking? Larva Eater is a constant reminder of why I stopped searching for rare items. It's too annoying with FFXII's random treasure/drops. Even with Diamond Armlet you spend an eternity trying to get what you want.

Aside from the Danjuro, are there any special requirements for Luxollid? I can't seem to encounter this Elemental and I want the Staff of the Magi from it (I'm one of the few people that DOES rely on Magic as they get the job done quicker than weapons).

EDIT: I've been doing the LarvaEater/Danjuro side quest on Waystone 14, constantly moving back and forward between the Waystone and Leo Gate 1. At the same time I've been trying to obtain the Treasure behind Leo Gate 1. The only Treasure I cared about when I first came here was Excalibur and I already got that. But I recently took an interest in the Zodiac Escutcheon and I've been trying to obtain it in this area (and Barheim Passage), but I don't know which treasure chest that item spawns in. The Brady Games Strategy Guide ain't really useful when it comes to things like this.

Like what u mention, dagger class weapon is those that can deal high speed attacking.. This means u will have higher chance of inflicting combos using daggers especially when u equipped urself with Genji Gloves or Cat Hood.. I will rather use a two-handed Masamune which has higher performance compared to Danjuro..

I have seen players still failed to obtain Danjuro even after chaining Larva Eater for a 20+ combo.. They only get Demon Eyeballs.. And that's it!! U might ask how the hell is it possible to chain Larva Eater?? Becuz like what many FAQs mention, u will need to chain Necrophobe in order to make Larva Eater appears.. And when u will definitely break the chain no matter what..

However, there is another way to make Larva Eater appears.. This is to proceed to the area where u can see those flying black bombs.. Do not attack them as it will break your chain of the first Larva Eater u kill.. The only thing u can do is to let those bombs self-explode and die.. U can only cure urself from their damages.. After a certain number of bombs die.. Larva Eater will spawn.. And the number of dead bombs required is approximately 300+ to 500+ (That's what I heard..)

And it will definitely take u several days without switching off ur console.. Some even had their PS2 burnt due to overheating.. So my opinion is, Danjuro don't really worth so much time and effort, unless u are a completionist.. All in all, to get Danjuro, u will just need lots of luck.. Nothing more nothing less.. Anyway, with Masamune, Zodiac Spear and Tournesol, it will be more than enough to defeat everyone, and that includes Yiazmat.. By the way if u intend to make Tournesol, juz make one will do.. Cuz u won't be able to make another one even if u have the required complete materials..

As for Luxollid, u need to defeat Rare Monster No. 33/80, Vargrant Soul aka Soul Of Chaos.. After that don't go any other places.. Just proceed straight to Subterra B2F, South area.. Go from South-West hall..

The Zodiac Escutcheon in Barheim Passage is the one where the chest sit on a trap.. It's a narrow path up with quite a decent amount of traps.. (I presumed u have gone through the whole map of Barheim Passage..)

When there are two chests sitting on the trap, it means Zodiac Escutcheon might be inside the second chest.. However, it will take lots of patience to trial and error on it.. Most of the time u either get knob of rust, elixir or sweep.. Rem to equip diamond armlet.. But I will suggest u to attempt the one in Crystal Grande.. It's behind Tarus II gate.. The only problem with it is sometimes the chest do not spawn at all.. So u need to reload and try again.. Gd luck!! ;)

Thanks Xiao. I'll try that Mom Bomb trick but I'd hate to try killing him somewhere else (since I'm used to doing it on Waystone 14...). Also I'll take my chances with the Zodiac Escutcheon in Barheim Passage.

Aside from that, I already completed this game and obtained almost all of the best weapons in the game, I stopped playing it around mid-december after I defeated Yiazmat and got my WyrmHero Blade (It'd be better if attacking wasn't so slow... but oh well, it has a high combo rate which should make up for the slowness and it gives you Bravery & Faith).

And, I don't think I'm going to be making another Tournesol (even if I could) because it's become a pain in the ass to obtain the current material that I need to make it.
