confirmed by Cyanide at http://www.cyanide-studio.com/?rub=node&nid=806 as well as by the author of the series, George RR Martin himself http://grrm.livejournal.com/90917.html . They are apparently to start work on an RTS as well as an RPG for both PC and consoles. I'm not too familiar with Cyanide, but as far as I know, they are mostly known for their sports manager simulators, which makes them a bit of an odd choice for this. George RR Martin seem to be quite involved in any project that bears the name of his books though, so this does have some potential in my opinion.

Any other fans of the books looking forward to see what Cyanide comes up with? AN RTS with scenarios based on the great battles and wars of The Seven Kingdoms would be great. Especially if they include some historical ones from the books such as the War of the Usurper and the Blackfyre Rebellion.

It'll probably be terrible. Their game CV doesn't exactly fill me with confidence.

Can't Martin just stop being distracted with all of these spinoff games, TV pilots etc and instead just get the fucking books done already? I want my A Dance of Dragons dammit.

The rest of their catalogue is a bit different from what they are about to do here, but their sports simulation games have always gotten pretty good reviews, and the upcoming Blood Bowl game looks good too. I'm hoping for the best anyway.
