Curse of the Golden Flower

I loved this movie to no end. Zhang Ziyi is such an amazing actress as well.
I thought the plot was just perfect. The lies and betrayal...And the action scenes were so elaborate. ^.^

I love movies like this.
Like Hero, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, House of flying daggers...

But I have to say that THIS movie was phenomenal. The English dubs are absolutely horrible (as are most English dubs), so I recommend just watching the movie in Chinese with the subtitles on.

I want to see this movie, mainly because Zhang Yimou directed it (as he did House Of Flying Daggers and Hero) and Zhang Ziyi stars in it (as she did House Of Flying Daggers and Hero).

I've always liked kung fu movies, how high would you rate this one, Rhea?

The action scenes in this movie are just as amazing as any other king fu style film, if not better. What makes this movie a perfect 10/10 is the unexpected plot twists!

I've seen the movie about a month ago. I loved it - everything was impressively done. It made me think nonstop who was the real villain(s). The plot and twists were unique, almost confusing...until the end, of course. xD

Zhang Ziyi isn't in this movie; Gong Li stars in it.

Hero and House of Flying Daggers were kung-fu films. Personally, I don't think this movie is a kung fu film. I think it is a drama film that happens to have a few scenes of fighting.

That said, I thought it was pretty good. I liked the set design and costumes the best. Gong Li was gorgeous and talented.

Well that proved me wrong.

I could have sworn Zhang Ziyi was in this, maybe I'm just too used to her starring in movies like this.

I've no intentions of seeing it now.

I thought that the Emperor's first daughter looked a little like Zhang Ziyi. (You'll know who it is if you saw the whole thing through ^.^)
