Here's the premise. You are a detective in the FFVII world and you are given a routine murder case. Your job is to hunt down those responsible and punish them. Assume this is during the course of Final Fantasy VII. Your hunt begins when Cloud hops off the train at the Mako reactor in the very beginning of the game. The events of the game unfold as usual. Your investigation has no impact on Cloud's story at all. You need to decide where you would go, who you would shake down, and who is responsible for this crime.

A dead body washes up on the northern shores just above Midgar. The unidentified person is female. Her clothes are tattered and torn. They seem tropical in nature. Her body is tan. Although it appears as though she drown, you find several electrical burns on her back suggesting she was hit by a high level Bolt spell. Although this requires a certain amount of MP and the right materia, it doesn't necessarily narrow down the what "class" the person who killed her was. She has absolutely no identification on her.

Place your votes on what should be done next. Your votes will be tallied and that action will be done at noon of the following day. It may lead to information. It may lead to a dead end. It may lead to a fight. Who knows where this mystery will lead you. Who knows who is guilty. Play the game and find out. An example of a good post would be:

Example:
"Well the body might be from the area of Costa Del Sol, so I will head to Costa Del Sol to search to clues"

or

"Well the Turks know about the majority of murders that occur in the world. Maybe it would be good to ask Tseng about it so I'll go to Midgar to find them"

Example:
"Well the body might be from the area of Costa Del Sol, so I will head to Costa Del Sol to search to clues"
Frankly, this is what I was thinking about doing when I read the description of the character: Tan and tropical clothing. Costa Del Sol seems like the best place to go.

I'd head to costa del sol as well and ask around if anyone matching her description had been reported missing recently

If she has been "washed up" on the shore, then that suggests that the shore is not the primary crime scene. Therefore, it would be wise to find out where she come from, first. To determine which way she came from, contact the Sailor's at Junon and ask them to check their records on which way the current was flowing at her time of death, which will be determined by her liver temperature. Until we can get that information, a possible decision would be to travel to Costa Del Sol and ask some people if they have reported anyone missing (and checking the "Missing Persons" records, too).

No identification? When she gets back to the morgue, get some DNA, finger prints, dental records and such and check underneath her finger nails for skin cells, which would indicate a struggle. If her clothes are tattered and torn, I would suggest examining her for vaginal tearing or semen, or even taking the UV light over her body to detect bruising.

I could so work in forensics xD

Ok, since we're not doing any of that R-rated stuff, Riku. lol Very kinda o_O by the way... we have 4 votes to go to Costa Del Sol. So we shall...

After everyone has done their work, she is hauled off to the morgue. All you have left is a picture that you took of where she washed up and a pocket watch she had on her person. There are no engravings or anything on the pocketwatch to suggest where it might have come from or who gave it to her. You will use these to try and identify her in Costa Del Sol.

After being flown into Costa Del Sol about 5 hours later, you know you want to question the locals but where should you go to get the best results, you wonder? ***All the locations in the game version of Costa Del Sol are featured in this version of Costa Del Sol*** Where should we ask around, assuming we're staying in Costa Del Sol.

What, you want a rapist to run free?! THINK OF THE CHILDREN! xD

One idea might be to examine the watch for trace evidence. After that, photograph the watch, photograph the body and take both to Costa Del Sol, asking people there. People to ask could be the bar manager, the shop salesman, the tour guide, the receptionist at the inn and anyone on the beach. Possibly some people around the port, too. There's always the possibility of a "man-overboard" situation.

Um... after talling the VOTE a decision has been reached. lol We will not drag the body around cause again... creepy. We have a picture of the body and the watch (so why take a photo of it?) that's enough to suffice.

The helicopter arrives portside and you and two Shinra guards unload. There's no reason to have them at this point so you tell them to stay by the chopper. You walk down the edge of the port until you reach the steps. You see a few sailors and jet setters but no one you think might hold information on this girl. As you approach the center of the bustling town you notice children playing in the center. While showing the children the photograph of the dead woman, it seems too cruel. You show them the necklace and they simply point you in the direction of the bar before running off. As you enter the bar, your serious tone automatically interrupts the fun-filled air the bar naturally generates.

You sit and buy a drink. As the bartender offers to refill your drink you slip the photograph of the woman and the necklace beside the empty mug. Before the man has a chance take a second glance, you slide your detective badge on the other side of the mug. Taken aback, he picks up the photo and looks at it carefully, trying not to let anyone else see it or the horror on his face. He gives you back the picture which you quickly slip into your jacket pocket. He tells you that a lot of women come through the bar but he does recall this particular patron because she not only cleared her extensive bar tab but also paid rent with a bolt ring, which ironically nullifies lightning attacks. You pay him a sum of 8,000 gil for the ring. He said she was in town for two weeks and spent it partying and drinking almost the entire time. You leave the bar satisfied with the information you've aquired. The only question now is whether to continue asking around the town or to find out where this ring came from...
