Many people all across the world think that all crop circles are made by man. I however do not believe this. Tis true that there are some people that like to make a hobby out of destroying crops that could otherwise feed millions of people, but for the most part I think that "real" crop circles are made by other-wordly means. So what do you think?

I don't really know what to think. Well...I think that for the most part, they're hoaxes by people looking for attention. If aliens were so intent on getting our attention that they would take the time to make huge and eleborate designs in our corn fields....I think that they'd find an alternate way of contacting us because clearly, we just don't get it. I think there would also be more evidence to support the existance of aliens. And I mean evidence other than terrified hillbillies who claim they were abducted and ass-probed and shaky amateur videos of some lights in the sky.

Then again, some of these crop circles are so complex, that it's quite hard to believe that they were man made. Not only because of the intricate design but because the stalks of corn/wheat/etc have been bent and matted into a pattern, not just flattened or cut.

So yeah, I don't know. I'm pretty skeptical of them. But on the other hand, there are some aspects of certain crop circles that cannot be fully explained :p

In real crop circles, the wheat stalks weren't destroyed, just bent over. And when the farmers planted the seeds of the affected wheat, the yeilds came out better than ever. For example, let's say a normal wheat field feeds a thousand people. One night a crop circles mysteriously forms. The seeds of the affected crop are planted into an equally sized field. This new field will yeild enough wheat to feed ten thousand people. Each and every real crop circle bears a signifacant geometric pattern that is perfect in all laws of math. Scientists believe that someone or something is trying to communicate with us without actually showing themselves. Just like we send signals of our own in hopes that someone might catch and understand them. The fake crop circles that are made by hoaxers bear no mathematical significance whatsoever. In fact the lines aren't even straight. Also these hoaxers actually destroy the crop that they are working in. Lotsa differences between real and hoaxed crop circles. There are many more but I'll save them for later posts.

An interesting topic, really, it is. There are a lot of man made crop circles out there, that are made by people doing it for kicks. On the other hand -and this is what i've learned from my class on the paranormal- the ones that are unexplainable are quite... different.

Not only are some of the stalks of some crops bent over at weird angles, but the genetic information of these crops is altered and mutated as well.

Those that are, for whatever reason seem to have high levels of gamma radiation and the like. That's just what i've heard and learned though. So I can't really say.

Not just the genetic substance of the plants themselves but for a large length around the diameter of the crop circle is affected with weird stuff like the radiation you said.

As for my personal take on it, it's a phenomenon that can't be proved or disproved as otherworldly or local. (Oh here I go again. xD) I believe it's a mix of both.

There is no technology in this world that can bend stalks of wheat at the nodes while at the same time not injuring it, but instead, helping it. No one in this world can make a perfect trigonometric pattern in a corn field. No one in this world can make a crop circle in a matter of minutes.

The best book I have ever read was called "Secrets in the Field's" by Freddy Silva. It explains everything that we, as humans, have learned from REAL crop circles. I would highly recommend everybody reading this book. It will open your mind to the many possibilities of who makes them and how, and close your mind on what you might think of how they are made and who makes them.

What do I think of crop circles? I think there are a lot of people out there - with a lot of time on their hands… :P

I do believe there’s other intelligent life out there well beyond our solar system, but I have a hard time believing that they make a detour for Earth just to land in farmer John’s field making a bunch of interesting patters all night long.

Lol, it never ceases to amaze me with how cases crop circles happen each year... not a single person has witnessed nor recorded the cause of the phenomenon. Yeah, sorry, I don’t buy it.

I don't know who or what makes them, and I doubt I'll be persuaded either way, but the complex ones sure look amazing, especially when viewed from the sky and not just from a photograph, but with your own eyes. They're beautiful things.

Yeah exactly. Crop circles apparently spring up overnight and if you watch the History Channel at all, you'll see that a bunch of students and professors and other people attempted creating one using one of those stepping boards that they used to stomp on the corn or wheat to flatten it. It took them 6 hours just to create a simple circle. Now, it could be a bunch of people who are actually doing this, but that would hardly go unnoticed by the farmers or whoever who tend to the farms, right?

correct. So what are your views on this phenomenon. What do you think about crop circles, Jeremiah. Oh, and by the way, are you British or American?

I believe they are a hoax. Why would Aliens bother making crop circles in the first place? I certainly am sure that there are aliens somewhere in this vast universe, but i don't think they could ever reach our planet. If they did, they wouldn't just make a crop circle.

Yeah, I'm gonna go 200+ light years to a planet just to fuck with their plants...

Makes no sense. Aliens can't be behind it... It must be wind, events in space, or something man is doing on accident... Maybe even underground creatures! Just not aliens.

Ok the crop circles all have extremely complicated Geometric properties, as well as being RADIOACTIVE!!! Normal plants aren't radioactive nor are they bent into complicated geomectric figures. Crop circles are... It's possible that humans are doing it but, I don't think that would be very easy....

Huh. That makes space occurances very possible, theres LOTS of radiation out there. Star explosions, gamma rays and such... And our atmosphere couldn't possibly block concentrated things like explosions that give off radiation...

YES!!! DT you are absolutely correct! Humans haven't the technology required to fully produce a real crop circle at it's fullest. Maybe we can turn a field into a radioactive field, but that's about the extent of it.

On a side note, all "real" crop circles have underground reservoirs underneath them. Maybe it has something to do with how a crop circle is formed?

Ohhh... Must be the dirt shifting from loss of water in the ground or water eroding roots or ground and knocking or shaking the plants over....

I don't believe crop circles are made by alien space crafts. I believe that life exists beyond Earth...but I don't believe aliens just randomly park their ships in cornfields from time to time.

=/ Gamma rays + underground water? Hell, I dunno. It would explain a lot if one could figure out if it was truely possible.
