I remember when I first got ff7 and looked in the manual I thought, that like all other RPGs, all the characters listed in the charcter section would join the party. I was under the impression that Sephiroth would evetually join the party and fight against shinra and had no idea that he was actuallly the villian of the game. I went through a good deal of the game either expecting sephiroth to evetually "come to his senses" and make a cliche coversion to good or to reveal that he was actually under the control of some evil god (like all the other final fantasies). Near the end of the game I eventually realized that Sephiroth wasn't going to join the party, but I was still under the impression, that like all other RPGs, there would be some gianormous plot twist in the end that would change everthing. I even got the crazy idea into my head that Aeris might be Jenova (I didn't quite understand the difference between the cetra and jenova at the time and thought her death was suspicous) and would turn out to be the villian of the game. Did anyone else start developing crazy/stupid theories the first time playing FF7? (or any FF for that matter)

Well i add the theorie that Dain (Marlenes real father) would also join your party for a while before he throwed himself over the abyss!

I also believed Rufus had died in the Weapon atack and that Tseng had also died from Sephiroths atack...only after i understood that when you see Tseng getting atacked by Sephiroth it´s a flashback:dry:

And i believed also that the members of AVALANCHE had survived the explosion...only afterwards i realized it just wasn´t meant to be!

I suppose a lot of people would say that they thought Aeris would revive:huh:

Well my friend told me if i don't change aeris limit break then she would not die...haha. I was really young then though.

Its Aeris  not Aries - Aries is a star sign or the greek god of war...whichever your prefer :P

But anyway - annoying spelling correction done :P

I always heard the whole Aeris wont Die - tifa will instead theorie - and oh how i hoped it was true :) i was greatly dissapointed though...

i think ive heard almost every single FFVII rumour ever - including the cloud becomes Zack thing and Tifa becomes lara croft o_0

there all retarded

I read a rumor that you could get Zack as a playable character, which we all know is false, I don't even think you can do it with a gameshark, though I've never really checked

actually BeiBei you cant even play as Zack using an action replay o_0

so whoever think up these rumours have waaay too much free time.

You Can Play As Sephiroth.. I Like That haha.. W/Gameshark

when i was younger playing.. i thought i could get a secret character from that forest..

the one near where you find yuffie, the big forest.. i forgot the name..

just the way it looked to me, but eh, it was nothin..

I wasn't really talking about the crazy rumors that always seem to circulate on the internet, but more or less what people thought was going to happen when they first got the game; assuming you weren't one of those people who buys and reads the entire player's guide before playing the game.

I didn't make/believe any, but I've got one that always sticks out in my mind:

Cheese WEAPON. Funniest. Rumor. Ever.

I also thought that Sephiroth was going to become a playable character, and for the exact same reasons. It didn't take me all too long to figure it out though.

And, like most FFVII fanboys and fangirls, I hoped, prayed, and believed with all my heart that there would be some sort of Aeris resurrection. Once I beat it though, and played through again with internet guides, I knew to ignore all the rumors. After all, it just wouldn't sit right with the plot. Something that big would have to be some sort of cheat, not just a different ending.

I fell into mass confusion when it came to the plot the first few go's at it. I still struggle with it at least a little. But, when I found out that Square released a book just to clear up the confusion, I didn't feel so dumb anymore. :P

So I guess I was crazy to think Aeris was Jenova and evil, but stranger twists have happened in Video games. I think I was expecting VII to some how end up like chrono trigger (tell me Sephiroth and his obssession doesn't remind of dear old Magus).
