I searched and didn't find any topic to this liking so I decided to make a thread for members to convince me that _____ is great and worth replaying. I'm not easily swayed and don't jump onto bandwagons, but at the same time I don't automatically reject something because it's popular.

With that said, I want you guys to convince me that Final Fantasy X(no pun) is worth replaying. I'm not sure but I think it was gamefaq.com that had their list of best game or RPG ever and surprisingly Final Fantasy X was number 1. I sat for a second and thought to myself "what are these guys thinking?" I played through FFX when it came out and was disappointed. FFX being the first FF on PS2 had incredible graphics, but just an alright music and battle system, and the story was just eh. And a plot accounts for more than half of an RPG. Oh, and the voice acting had me wanting to play on mute. I wish there was an option to play with the original Japanese voice audio.

Anyway, I'm seeing how much praise this game receives and I truly want to love it as well. There's no FF that I've played that I don't enjoy. Can anyone convince me that this game is worth replaying or am I just in the low, single digit percentile that can't appreciate "the best RPG ever"?

No i wouldnt replay it, there is no value in that. I dont agree the game is the best RPG either but thats my opinion. So im going to think that everyone else has there work cut out for them.

Whys there no value? I mean if you miss things first time round maybe ur gunna want to try and get them all this time. ¬¬
Id say you should. The story is awesome, the characters and their backgrounds are superb. Theres plenty mini games and sidequests to keep you going if you decide you want to do them. Epic game.

By the way, mods, I didn't put this in the FFX forum in case others had the same request I did with other FF games.

I hate to say it and I think I'm getting the same vibes from FFVI. This is my second time playing the game and I just can't get into it like I can the others. I got only about halfway the first time.

Why is it always the popular ones?

Ive got everything the first time through. I did the lightning, raced that damned chocobo trainer till my hands bleed, AND GOD FORBID THEM FUCKING BUTTERFLIES. Fought sin and realized how much time i had just wasted. The graphics are great ill give you that but the story just never really ran well. I can put final fantasy VII in start playing and keep playing it like its a brand new game. Final fantasy X is just kinda like eh no matter when i put it in i spend more time playing blitz ball then the actual game

As much as I really like FFX, it isn't a game with too much replay value for me due to how long winded and linear it is. You never really miss anything because of how strict the game is. I can replay it on rare occasions, but it's very cut scene heavy and I can see how that would put people off. There is side quests like obtaining all the hidden aeons, and defeating the dark aeons which may prove difficult the first time you play, but these are pretty far along the line of a pretty long ass game. There is also Blitzball which I mastered in one of my replays of the game, but it gets repetitive. I'm not sure these things really warrant a replay tbh. I only replayed the game a couple of times because I love the story, if you didn't like the story then there is really no replay value in FFX at all. And I don't agree that it's the best RPG ever.

Well that's kind of reassuring. I'll give it another chance, but just to tender me up for FFXIII :) maybe it's one of those games that'll make me fully appreciate it after the second try.

I'm playing VI again right now and I'm just not feeling that epic-like sensation everyone talks about. I see everyone's point of why it's such a great game but I think it's just average.

Well, I don't think I could convince anyone to replay FFX. It's not that it's a bad game or anything, but the whole Final Fantasy Franchise has little replay value unless you missed something the first time or need clarification on plot details.

FFX was a great game, but you pretty much understand the plot the first time through with little trouble, so there's no need to clarify plot details. In addition, there's very little you can "miss" in the game because you can usually just go back and do whatever you missed once you get the airship. This makes the first playthrough seem packed with extra content, but reduces the replay value.

I don't think it's the best game of all time either, but it was pretty fun. I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy it.

Just remember that Gamefaqs awards are based on user votes, and people generally just vote for the game they've played even if there are some options of other games they haven't played.
For instance, ilet's say these are the choices:
1. FFVIII
2. Grandia
3. Wild Arms 3
4. Katamari Damacy

If the person voting has only played FFVIII, they certainly won't vote for the others, despite the fact that the others may or may not be better games. They simply vote for what they know.

Seeing as FFVIII is probably the most played game on the list, it will undoubtably get the majority vote.

So basically you just get a bunch of people making uneducated decisions as to what game is best. Which is precisely why I never vote on a Gamefaqs poll unless I've played all of the games listed for that day.
