Tech Considering Building PC: Need advice

Hello there fellow techies. As the thread title says, I'm planning on building a desktop PC. Budget varies- with the hope of me getting a job, I could be looking at a decent €750. Otherwise, this'll be a long term project.

Anyway, the plan is to build myself a half-decent Gaming PC(Since I've heard the pre-built bought gaming PC's are usually just built up for brand...And they're way out of my price range(I've seen some for $1000+ dollars).

Anyway, my first idea was to use this barebones to start off, and work from there.

This isn't set in stone, but I would prefer to use that particular site, since I live near the place.

On the other hand, I have an old Toshiba A135 (NOT MINE shown in this video)

Would I be better just improving that instead?

Just a recap of my opinion from the shoutbox:

While building a PC yourself is a great and cheap (also sometimes challenging) way to go, I'd say don't deal with the frustration until you are at least familiar with what you are looking at and can identify different hardware pieces. I'm all for the learning experience, but I think that is an ordeal someone shouldn't be in if they don't know what does what yet.

My advice is to buy a gaming DESKTOP that is a few generations old, maybe prioritize the motherboard and go for a nice one. From there, just buy small additions to your desktop here and there. A new hard drive and RAM first, maybe. After that, try tackling the CPU/GPU if you feel ready. Get used to the ribbons/wires, what each part looks like and how it all should be connected.

Remember to research the parts to make sure it is compatible with your motherboard!

If you feel ready to upgrade after that, then I'd advise building your own rig from the ground up.
