We've all had school disasters, but for this particular thread, it shall be college related. So, any college disasters? It could be anything...pricing, wrong choice of schools, etc.

As for me, University of Phoenix. I hated that school. A complete waste of my time and money - not to mention that I only attended 3 classes and I ended up owing more than 600 dollars...which my husband had to pay since I didn't have a job back then.

And then they had the gall to charge me extra (which would have cost me more than 800) because they accused me of attending 4 classes. A signature error... -.- Of course, I proved my case, and I'm glad I don't have to deal with them anymore.

On top of it all this, one particular counselor was encouraging me to lie on my application and employment status to get in the school.

May I point out that I felt extremely uncomfortable with that situation. I remember she told me to go ahead and put that I work for McDonalds on my school application, when I clearly did not have any employment history. I told her I didn't wanna do that so she referred me to a Temp Agency called AppleOne. I went there, passed the computer test...only to be denied RIGHT AFTER I passed the 45-minute test, because my schedule did not meet their standards. (My availability was quite limited.) You can imagine how ticked off I was.

When I told the counselor this, she said that as long as I'm on AppleOne's records, that was good enough and told me to put AppleOne in my school application. I still felt it was wrong though...to me that was like twisting the truth. I was so afraid of getting in trouble and possibly getting kicked out of school when I finally did get in.

Anyway, there was a lot more that went on and it seriously gave me a headache. I wanted to drop out on my 2nd class meeting (I believe something serious came up) but one of the counselor insisted that I stay.

Then after my 3rd class meeting, that same week I found out we were getting kicked out of from where we were living and had to move to Ohio. I hated myself after that because I could've just dropped out on my 2nd class meeting and wouldn't have to owe any money. >.<

So yeah, a complete waste of my time. I was pissed off too because in order to get into the school, you need a damn job - or else they will not let you in. It's so ridiculous. I'm seriously avoiding for-profit organizations like UoP from now on, as they are very consistent with tuition increases and puts a lot of students in a financial burden.

Anyway, that's one of my mistake in my college life so far...what's yours?
