Cid, Marlboro, Gysahl Greens , Kupo?

Whoah, i was away for a day and suddenly my thread got loads of replies =)

I agree with all of you really, new Cactuars sucked, i like Marlboros, but i dreaded fighting them.....


 
XII ruined Malboros. They're like two feet high and are hardly dangerous at all. Malboros are supposed to be giant hideous monsters that make you wet yourself in fear and hold down the shoulder buttons, not wimpy little blobs you can kill in three hits. Even the Great Malboros are just as bad....

I mean I hate malboros, but you cant turn a fearsome creature like that into a wimp. They've instilled fear in us for years and then we're supposed to accept that they shrink in size and are less dangerous than a friggin Goblin? Not cool, SE, not cool at all. Give us back our dreaded malboros.
 
I forgot to mention Behemoth's. It always sucked to come across those when your party was still at low lever.

Oh and traditional summons, the only reoccuring characters in the series. It was bad enough when Leviathan wasn't in X, but to have none of them in XII... :(
 
Not even the Marlboro that you have to defeat in one of the hunts in FFXII compares to the old skool ones....., they are just so small and pathetic.
So thats FFXII, with crappy Cactuars, wimpy Marlboros and no freakin Tonberries....
 
I could live without Behemoths. I cringe whenever I run into a random battle with any type of monster that counterattacks, but Behemoths are like my worst nightmare when it comes to FF games.

I really like a lot of the classic summons, especially Bahamut and Odin (Zantetsuken ftw :P). I didn't use them very much in FFIV, but when I played FFV, I gained a totally new respect for summoners.

Chocobos are definitely a staple of the series. I guess I could live without them, but it wouldn't quite feel like an FF game without them.
 
My running favorites would be Bahamut and Odin; I was disappointed to find out that they where missing in XII… Other favorites would be Moogles and Cactuars, they where cute, especially in XII. However, my all-time favorite would be Tonberrys… In my opinion, it just isn’t FF without them.
