chocobo breeding

yeah i'm kinda clueless about how to get a golden chocobo. i have tried forever to get one but as it is all i have is a champion bred NORMAL CHOCOBO not blue not black not green not gold but a normal chocobo. it wins every other race on S-rank but it won't breed a special chocobo. anyone have an idea on how to get a golden chocobo easily? (killing ruby doesn't count he always 2 or 3 shots my entire party so i lose within a minute)

Obviously you need to try and get your chocobos up to S rank in the races although that just gives better odds

Hrmm, right. To get the blue/green chocobo you need to mate a great/good chocobo using a carob nut. Id recommend saving before breeding and keep reloading until you get the desired result

The black chocobo involves mating the green and blue ones with a carob nut

To ge tthe gold one, mate the black one with a wonderful chocobo using a zeio nut. You can steal these off these little goblin efforts on an island near the chocobo ranch

You have to do it in order. First get a wonderful Chocobo from the snow plains. Then breed it with a good Chocobo. Give it the nut you get from that dinosaur near Bone Village.

This should give you a river Chocobo. Breed this with a wonderful Chocobo, with the same nut, and you'll get a mountain Chocobo. After this you'll need to breed a river and mountain Chocobo with the same nut to get a black Chocobo. To get a Golden Chocobo, you have to train both a wonderful and the Black Chocobo to A rank or above. After this breed the two with a Zeio nut to get the elusive Golden Chocobo.
