What classes/jobs from the more traditional final fantasies would you allocate to the characters of final fantasy X, and why?

Here is my take;

Playable Characters;


Tidus - Theif/Time mage?

Yuna - Summoner / White Mage

Auron - Samurai

Khimari - Blue Mage / Dragoon

Wakka - Ranger?

Lulu - Black Mage

Rikku - Ninja / Theif


Non-Playable Characters;

Seymour - Summoner / Red Mage

Jecht - (not really sure on this one)

You hit it right on. Thats exactly how i see it. Maybe Jecht is a warrior because in dissidia, he hits slow, but hard like they do. But they can all be any class due to the free roam the sphere grid grants you
 
I'd say that is about right. Tidus and Wakka are the hardest to place because their abilities are a bit different form most. But ranger would be the best choice for Wakka.

For Tidus, I'm tempted to say palidan. After I go through Tidus's sphere trail I usually go up Yuna's to give him more healing moves. And a palidan basically is a warrior that uses holy spells.
 
I'd rate Wakka as a Green Mage since all of his attacks (bar limits) are status ailment oriented. He has a couple of group boosts as well.

I'd put Tidus down as a fighter to be honest. Haste is the only real 'Time Mage-y' attack that sticks in my mind, and a lot of his support abilities (Cheer etc.) are fighting oriented.
 
Gonna have to agree with the topic maker on this though I'm not sure what to think about Wakka. I guess he's kind of a Ranger... I guess I'll never be able to place what that darn blitzball is supposed to be associated with.
 
I agree that Tidus is also a Time Mage.
Ranger is the best class that suit Wakka.
And I think for Jecth, Warrior is his class as he really have a strength...I guess.
 
Really great list, btw.
But I'd have to say that Lulu is a bit of sage as well, if only for Demi, Death and Flare. I don't usually consider those to be black mage spells, but more sagacity magic.
 
I actually agree that Wakka could be a Green Mage due to his status ailments. As for Tidus being a Thief? Maybe his speed but nothing else really matches that for me.

I can see Jecht just being a Dark Knight kinda figure? Especially being with Braka's Final Aeon.
 
Yeah the topic maker kinda hit it on the spot, though Wakka is kinda in a class of his own, lol. I do agree with Ranger though because of his long range attacks. I do agree also with Jecht's tough exterior, maybe it's the tattoo's, but I'd call him a warrior.
