Help Can't get to mythril mines on disc one!

how do i get to the mythril mines without coming in contact with the zolom.
Ive been trying to catch a chocobo with the chocobo lure materia equipped but every time i am in a battle with one it yells wakka wakka and runs away ... Even when i dont attack it!!!

You're suppose to throw Gysthal (spelling?) Greens (i.e. use them from the item command - and you can get them from the Chocobo Farm) and while it munches on that, you kill off the monsters. Kill the monsters while it's bent munching on those greens, and you've caught it ^^

I've been able to make it across without a chocobo and the MZ not catch me. You just have to jet across when its about to hit the left wall.

anyways it seems like you got some help and with a chocobo you will be fast enough, although it can still attack you.
