Bought a reasonably priced External HD from Buffalo (Keep in mind I know sod all about this sorta stuff so brand names mean nothing to me) yesterday evening on Amazon and it arrived this morning. Now it's supposed to be one of these 'Plug n'Play, no hassle' jobbies but when I went to plug it in I had this:

A foreign plug apparently. Yeah thanks for the incredibly accurate description Amazon ¬¬

Anyways what do I do now? I can't seem to find a right lead on the 'net nor do I seem to have one that fit's around the house (granted I haven't actually looked further than the bedroom....), Buffalo's customer help is shit and I don't want to particularly sent it back unless I have too because I want it running as soon as possible.

Is that the...uh, wall plug? You could try a universal plug adapter.

Or, for about $15 you can buy a SATA/IDE to USB adapter with a power supply, then dismantle the enclosure, remove the hard drive, and hook it up like that...

I managed to sort it in the end. That above is apparently a very very foreign plug that's not even in use anymore....however after inspecting the box for the Serial Number so I could complain to their shitty Customer Service, I stumbled across a very small, well hidden bag that contained the add-on's for it to fit UK and US sockets.

All together now....

"EPIC FAIL"
