Blue Dragon Demo

Not sure how many of you 360 owners take full advantage of the demos uploaded the the XBox Marketplace. If you do though, definitely try out Blue Dragon. It's the upcoming game from Mist Walker, which is headed by the father of Final Fantasy. The game in itself is a little too childish for my tastes... but it does have a great battle system.

It basically revolves around a charge system, which seems really cool. I downloaded the demo and played through it a couple of times. I got used to the controls and everything... I can't say I really like the game but it's definitely much better than a lot of other RPGs I've played. So if you've played games like Star Ocean 3, Radiata Stories or Grandia 3 and been reasonably satisfied... definitely play through this game. It's a much more refined game.

I tried it for few minutes, but it didn't strike to me like it was supposed to strike. Maybe it's just me, but it seemed quite boring.

I'm looking forward to it. From gameplay footage and trailers, it looks like it'll be fun. I love the art style (I'm a fan of DB series) and well, it justy looks like it's a good solid RPG for 360.

Is it really that bad? This game is the main reason Im going to purchase a 360 because its in an offer. From what Ive seen and read I kinda like it.

I tried the demo on the cover disc of OXM (official xbox magazine) and it was actually very good. I like the art style, music and character design. the only thing I didn't like much was the slightly slow battles compared to more faster paced RPGs....but that might be because the demo was only 60 minutes long. The bosses are very good looking too. Also, I didn't really bother to look through the menu properly due to the time limit but it seemed okay. I'll definetly buy it though as it is enjoyable for a rpg.

I don't have any plans to play this game. I never liked the way it looked in the trailers, and a friend of mine d/l the demo and it didn't capture my attention at all :/

Plus I have played Star Ocean 3 and I didn't like it xD

I read a couple of reviews on Blue Dragon. The game doesn't really attract me. The game play seems alright. The storyline is really cliche. This game is more of a rental.

I heard in Japan people got a Xbox 360 just to play this game.

There is already a Blue Dragon thread Roxas-Sora. Your thread has been merged.

Yeah. I know this topic is pretty old... But, anyways... I got Blue Dragon just recently, used for 17$. I have to say that this was a great bargain, and the game is of a quality I'd have gladly paid 50$ for (if I had the money). You can tell they took a lot of care into making it. Yeah, the story is a little bit generic but the atmosphere of the game and the way it plays is like a big nostalgia-trip to the days of ChronoTrigger.

About the only problem with this game is that it is VERY old-school... But, still... With the large influx of action-RPGs, I still welcome this game with open arms because it is just FUN. It's not a chore to run around leveling up or progressing the story, which I tend to find with most JRPGs.

Yeah I'm at the end of the game right before the final area, and I really enjoy this game. I love the battle and class system, and man if you got this game for less than $20, that's a steal. I'd pay full price for this game again if I had to. I have to say that the characters act a bit childish, which I find turns a few people I know off (they ARE kids, what do people expect?)

Well to me, the childish nature is a large plus. This is because I lot of RPGs I play are emotional or depressing and/or very serious in tone. So, the cartoon appearance in a next-gen RPG is very welcome to me, especially in a time where everything tries to be extremely realistic.
