Blackjack Course (levels 100-150)

Has anyone else got it or tried it? This course is extremely frustrating.

For starters, the challengers are freaking insane. Some of them are absolutely fine. But as some of you may have experienced from the Lunar Whale Course, there's a potential that you could fight a far superior foe out of left field. I was on a hot streak of 28 until--well, I won't spoil the course for anyone. =] You all can find out how it is for yourselves.

As for the items here... The "rare" ones are so dreadful to come across. After hours, the notable that I've managed to come across are the entire Adamant set, a Lufenian Vest and Shield, and a Medal exclusive to the course. I've also heard that Rosetta Stone could be found here with the right Luck stats. But can't you get the requirements for that by playing through arcade? So I'm not sure if it's all worth it time wise (although the Adamant Equipment is amazing for my Cloud). Regardless, it's insanely fun and ridiculously challenging.

Haven't tried BJ Course yet, I need to unlock it xD Though, it doesn't sound like something that I couldn't do. The temptation of the gear that you mentioned is very powerful against me xD The Adamant Chains Set is so good for anyone who can wear it xD Lvl 99 Gear.

My blocking and dodging are getting better and better. I really do wish I had some experience playing against other players, though. The AI can only offer so much practice until it becomes routine. Though, I do enjoy beating the high levels down.

I've found a way to inflict Break by chance now. Iai Strike. Heard of it? 2% Chance of inflicting Break on opponent. That.. is hax xD I use it everytime I face up against anyone higher Lvl than I am. Lvl 100 enemies are easy enough to deal with.

I really want that gear... I need to unlock this course, and I'mma destroy it :3 Then I'mma be a god xD When I get a PS3, I'mma destroy you too, HighwindPilot. Watch for Dash- ^-^

It's not even the level I care about. I mean the Snow Petal from Lunar Whale is fine in itself. It's the ability of the Adamant Set that I care about. 30% extra brave for defending - it falls perfectly into Cloud's "counter" game against the quicker opponents.

Though, I do enjoy beating the high levels down.

I'm sure you'll have more than enough fun against the hax that is Chaos of the Blackjack Course.

Riiight. Unlock and play through the course before you start up with that kind of talk. Otherwise that gear's not even in your line of sight. It's unlocked by beating Inward Chaos btw, so yeah, it's not anything you can't do.

In any case, I'd love to take up challenges, but I don't have a PS3, and I don't really plan on getting one unless a few games end up drawing me in.

All the way up to Lvl 125, I will be able to win without too much trouble. When I see that the opponent is anything over Lvl 130, that's when I break down crying xD The course really is the hardest thing I've done in the game so far xD I've just managed to win 4 in a row before being stomped by a Lvl 140 Squall xD It was epic!!

Hopefully I can get a Red Mage + 2x Thief Card soon enough xD That would truely be epic :3 I wish us the best of luck in beating this course xD Lvl 150 here I come! LOL!

It's just a bitch isn't it? I haven't had much time to play as of recent, but the last time I did, I got worked over by a level 145 Kuja.

And I agree with your statement, anything above 130 (where Lunar left off) is when it gets really difficult.

That being said, the Adamant Set has worked pretty well for Cloud. The 30% Brave increase for defending really has paid off. It's pretty much made my counters that much stronger. The hard part is that I'm playing with fire trying to defend. It's to the point where some of these guys can take you out in one or two attacks (depending on what they are).

It's ridiculous. But I have a feeling that there are stronger equips that'll pay off here. Just gotta encounter them, which is the tedious part.

I doubt there will be Lvl 100 Gear (which I'm expecting would be near godly - if they existed) but there will be quite a few sets that work for different characters. I wouldn't be surprised if a lower leveled set of equipment worked better for someone than a higher leveled set would. I don't really think Equipment is all too important =) It's just a boost, in my eyes.

Wouldn't it be awesome if you weren't allowed equipment in the courses, and the opponents had no equipment too? xD That would be so mint, because you'd only be relying on the Acc. and your skills ^-^ Gawd that would be amazing~

I've tried the BJ Course, damn its hard. BUT, an character I have ease doing it with is a lvl100 Onion Knight He's really quick, and can land alot of attacks before your opponent can do anything. He's two Brv attacks that can branch into HP attacks are your best bet in my experience.

I managed to get into the 150s with my Gabranth and his completely broken EX build which makes his EX bar full on every battle and makes his EX mode infinite.
but... still got pwned. It's really really really hard as every single BRV attack from a level 150 enemy will break you no matter your BRV. Okay, I may be exaggerating but you get the point... they're really powerful Tip: Stay away from characters with BRV to HP links... =/

I can shed some light on the treasures and rewards of the BJ course.
Lufenian Equipment: Sometimes, you will encounter Level 130 Enemies that are marked "High (Antiquities)". These carry Lufenian Equipment. Unlike Genji, Adamant etc., there is Lufenian Equipment for ALL Equipment tipes. There is Lufenian Katana, Star of Lufenia, Lufenian Jacket, Lufenian Cap, Lufenian Bangle, you get the point.
Item Drops from these enemies are the only way to get Lufenian equips. However, don't panic! These equips have an EXTREMELY high Drop Rate, so you will almost always get 1 or 2 drops.
Lufenian Equips can also be present in Quick Battle, however only after you obtain the item in the BJ course. For example a Quick Battle Sephiroth will not be able to wield Lufenian Katana until you obtain L. Katana from a Antiquity Sephiroth in the BJ course. However Quick Battle is not entirely useless - as I said before you will almost always get 1 or 2 drops, and 1 drop per battle means lots of stuff to sell for massive amounts of Gil! I have like 15 Lufenian Helms, though I don't need any Gil atm.
Lufenian Equips have the same basic stats as level 96/99/100 equips of the same tipes - thus, Lufenian Bangle will have the same stats as Seydlitz. (except weapons. I'm not entirely sure about them...)
Excalibur II: Ahh, the Excalibur II. Don't worry, you won't have to complete DFF in under 12 hours to get it. However that doesn't mean that it's going to be easy! E2 is VERY rare and can ONLY be obtained by Item Drops. I'm not sure if it has increased drop rate like Lufenian equips...
It has ATK + ...67 was it? Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was 67...
But the main reason you want this is for EXP+100%.
"But it can only be equipped at level 99 and 100, why would you want an EXP bonus?!?", you may ask.
Chocobo Wing+Feather+Down + Super Ribbon + Excalibur 2 + Bonus Day + Grind Lover play plan will make EXP to BRV GODLY. An Initial BRV HP attack will boost your BRV to about 5000.
BJ course also has enemies with Genji, Adamant and Snowpetal, and you will NOT find enemies that have equips under level 92. Except when you use a Monk Job Card.

I've yet to unlock blackjack course but I'm in IC no.4. Can you buy any of these items with medals? what are some good accesories that you can get? I don't think i'll do too well in this... I struggle even in the lunar whale course. Some good items will help, of course.
