Multiple Platforms Bioshock

I prefer confined spaces too....means less places to run away. However, Mercenaries was fun because you could use nukes...so you'd HAVE to get far away unless you want to be in the blast range.

I still don't think Bioshock is as scary as playing as the Marines in Alien Vs Predator but it's definetly creepy.

I'm now on the third level after killing another boss. Quite easy once I realised he was throwning molotov cocktails.....just throw them back at him with telekenesis. :D No Big Daddy/Little Sisters in my current level and it looks short so will see what happens when I play.

Maybe next time you come around you'd like to try Condemned?

Bioshock is truly an epic game epsicially if you collect all of the radio recordings.

Condemned is a good game though I really hated the fact that the entire city was mostly filled with junkies.

I agree, you get the most out of the story when you get all of the recordings. I think I may have missed some on the medical level but 'll go back and have a look later.

What I found most interesting about Condemned was that you were forced to use melee weapons nearly all the time as any guns found had no extra ammo except what came in it.

Shame I wasn't listening to half of the ones I got...thought I was not in the state to concentrate at all that day....

Condemned - what is that about ?

Well lucky for you it's easy to hear them again in the menu section where the map is located. It'll only have those you've picked up so far. I've had to use it as during one or two, it's been cut short because of someone talking over the radio. :(

Condemned? I posted a trailer for it in the previous page. if you'd like, you can play it when you come over next.

i saw a Trailers on Bio shock i think its coool to aproove its the revolution of fps
=p~

I started playing Bioshock yesterday. I'm playing it on my PC. Wow o_o I'm impressed! I just finshed the first level which was the Medical Pavilion. I loved finding video recorders and looking at the posters.
Also I decided to rescue the little sisters.

Hmm...I've watched my bf play a few hours of this game. It looks really hard actually. Especially if you're not used to first person shooters. The environment looks really amazing. You can like...shoot lighting at the water, and the electricity travels through the water! Be careful not to be standing in a puddle when you use lightning! ^.^

What I found most disturbing aboout the medical level was the messages written in blood throughout. And when listening to the recordings, you understand that the doctor has gone mad and this makes the meeting with him even more freaky as you don't know what to expect.

I've just finished Smuggler's Cove (or whatever it's called) and am at Arcadia now. I've saved all the little sisters so far but when I finish, will play through again on easy so I can get the rest of the achievements and will harvest them all.

It's not hard at all as you are always resurrected in the Vito chambers. Only problem with that is it can make the game far too easy. However, I myself find that not too bad.....though maybe the process should cost money.....but technically it costs your ammo as it never replenishes.

I figured out you could...so maybe next time, I'll just sit through and listen through the ones I got so far..

ok..I'll check that later

what I found most disturbing to the point I have got....was the damn doctor yelling on the corpse on the slab, ..while stabbing it...or whatever he was doing..while yelling he only wanted to make them look more beautiful....now that is what you call psychotic behaviour

I thought it got disturbing right at the start when that woman is talking about her "baby" and it's actually a pistol in a pram. Now THAT'S crazy.

Is it just me or did anyone else found the vendor machines to be creepy? The clown one was pretty creepy. I think he's saying: 'Welcome to the Circus of Value!' Over all the happy theme vendor machines tend to scare me. I guess because around the corner there could be a splicer ready to attack you....

I just saw the Youtube videos in the posts towards the top....this game looks amazing. Most people I talk to about it say the game is pretty creepy. Great job by the developers.

I've played the game quite a while. It's awesome especially the injecting of coloured substances in your veins. And the Big Daddies....the best enemy since the striders in Half-Life 2(IMO). I just love the level of sickness in this game: put an enemy on fire and when he jumps in water to extinguish himself fry him with electro bolt = priceless.
This game wasn't even close to a horror shooter. It is sick and bloody but not horror. I mean....what is so scary about it?? I think the atmosphere(which is great by the way) ruins the horror element.
It is full of awesome scenes and weapons and other stuff but I really don't find it horror. Anyway....I give it a 11 out of 10.:P

It's not a horror in the normal sense of the word. It's more of a "Alien" kind of horror. At least that's how it is to me. I haven't played in a while (been playing Blue Dragon) but I got as far as getting to the start of Arcadia and seeing the enemies that teleport and it's been very creepy so far. Not scary but certainly creepy.

One thing I've just thought of trying (not sure if it'll work) is freeze an enemy and then use telekenesis to throw them against a wall and smash them. DOubt it'd work but would be cool if it did.

At the moment I am in Arcadia....think level 4...very deliberatelly confusing done up level....even with the damn map you gotta think twice before you turn left or right....

I got pissed off yesterday, as I am trying to collect all the recordings, so I have all from Medical Pavillion, and then I checked on the guides that I have them all to be sure.

But then comes Neptun's Bounty and damn the bastard of the level...few guides say there is 22 of them, few there is 21....I counted by names ....I got 21...and the names corrispond....so what the hell ? Is it 21 or 22

I am 1. pissed off, 2. confused....I been around Neptun's Bounty three times back and forth before entering Arcadia and I cannot find that one damn recording (just in case if it exist) anywhere ..., actually there is nothing left to pick up for me in Neptun's Bounty as I picked it all up....it is driving me nuts....

Yeah... The 'horror' in BioShock is not knowing when you're going to be attacked. That is because MOST of the enemies appear randomly. A few events are scripted, but overall, splicers, big daddies and little sisters do their own damn thing.

Only certain parts of Bioshock scared me. There was a part in the Medical Pavilion where you find a hidden room and you pick up a recording of a doctor. After you listen to the recording you turn around and he's right behind you.

The second part that scared me was in Hephaestus. The part where you walk through a room and the lights flicker. The lights go out and at the end of the room three dead looking splicers, who wake up and attack.

Also the Houdini Splicers were kinda creepy....

Ah, I believe that part in Hephaestus was near the engine tunnel thing....that did shock me a little. When you first meet the Houndini Splicers, I was creeped out by it. I wont say what happens because some people haven't got that far but it did creep me out.

Although the enemy AI can spawn anywhere whenever you enter a location, you only really need to worry about the Splicers as the Big Daddies and Little Sisters are easy to know when they're near. I've had a few times when running through parts of the map when I'm attacked by either a few Houndini or LeadHead Splicers.

It'll be interesting to see what Downloadable Content is released. I'm pretty sure that there'll be some new plasmids/tonics but I wonder if they'll add the third Big Daddy which they took out due to time limit.

I played the demo for this when it was being hyped for it's 360 release, It did not inspire me to go and buy it tho. Amazing graphics and solid atmosphere but in terms of gameplay? Apart from some interesting touches; same old, same old I beleive the saying goes.

But that's just my opinion, I know people who love this title.

Well, although I loved the demo...the main reason I bought it was because I have System Shock 2 and it's an incredible sci-fi shooter that very creepy. Considering they're by the same people, I expected the same level of quality from Bioshock....and that's what I got. It's got one of the more interesting story lines I've had in a FPS.
