Beta problems

I have a question.

I recieved a mail that invited me to the FF XIV beta. It also gave me a link to login. When I click on it and fill in my login data (mail adres and password) it sais that it doesn't work.

What is the problem cause the beta already started in Europe. Also: why is that site so slow.....
 
Moved to FFXIV

Could it be the time you're trying to log in? I know in the first alpha stage the servers were only available to play on at certain times but I don't if they carried through onto the second stage.

logged in already. But where can I download the client?
 
Sounds to me like you might be the victim of a phishing attempt.

Have you checked that the e-mail AND link are actually legit? When you receive e-mails like that, NEVER EVER follow the link given to you in the mail. Instead go to the company's OFFICIAL website by conventional means and go from there.

Also did it give you a password or did it ask you to fill in the password for your e-mail address? If it is the latter, then you have definitely been phished...
 
I'm having a similar, if the same problem as you are experiencing. I definitely have my account registered on the Square Enix Management System website, but I cannot login to the tester website.

*cries on the floor*
 
Guys, if you read the email that was sent out, there should have been something along the lines of this...

It's working fine for me, GMT -5 @ 23:15 Monday, so maybe you just needed to wait a while. You still have to download and update the client, and it DOES take longer than FF XI, which is a shame.
 
It's working now for me, but the version update files on the client are taking so long to update, it says there's 75 hours remaining =/

Hope that changes...

I've read on their forums that a fair few people are having this problem. By the sounds of it, it's something you'll have to wait out since there's not really much you're able to do. Sucks really. They shouldn't allow it to happen. =/

Indeed.

I think it took a total of about 6 hours to update all the way. My speed bounced anywhere from 30 KB/s to 200 KB/s.

A pain, but the graphics are nice, even in the Beta. My name is the same on here if you want to try to look for me. Unfortunately, I'm gearing up to take a small vacation, so I'm not going to be able to be online much. Got a lot of stuff going on this week and weekend >.<
