FF Music Best and worst world map music

Which Final Fantasy world map music do you like the best? Which do you like the least?

My favorite has always been VI's music. Sometimes I would just have my character stand in place and let the music play in the background while I do something else. VII comes in a close second.

My least favorite has to be VIII. I just really don't like it at all. It also sounded a bit out of place with the game too and it was really boring.

Hah, I have to agree with you. I didn't like VIII's world map music at all. I'm like, "What the heck is this?" >.< It's so...random.

Hmm, I actually like IX's world map music. It's like a midi of Melodies of Life, and I just love that song!

Second would be VII...hmm, shoot. Now that I remember what the music was, I'm debating whether I like VII or IX more.

i totally agree with your favorites being FFVI and FFVII...but the worst music for me was FFIX...it just did not sit with well

FFVII Overworld is AMAZING.
You should all hear it on Piano. It's probably even with Aerith's theme in terms of greatness...

My favourite is probably FFIX, lovely music on the world map - though FFVII runs it close (the orchestral version of that one is excellent).

third place goes to FFVI ( the first one)

and FFVI is terras theme! and Terras theme is 2nd to only Aeriths in terms of theme greatness

worst is VIII though - for the reasons you and Mitsuki already gave

The best map music for me was FFIV's, but i hated FFIII's. Terra's Theme totally owned though

I would have to say VII had the overall best World Map Theme. VIII was the worst and didn't please me what so ever.

Yeah, it was a tragic game, wasn't it? FF7's world map music blows everything else but one out of the water for me. That one in second place is Terra, from FF6.

FFVI's world map theme sticks out the most. Love it. Right now I can't think of the worse so I would have to come back on that one.
