Man I think I was at high 40's when I fought him it's been about 1 or so since I faced him though.

Can't you just cast Vanish and then Doom on him? Try that, instant death.

Just build them up. Atma is on the floating continent right? There are a lot of enemys that will easy help you learn Vanish and Doom. Peice of cake once you learn them. They really come in handy, as well does X-Zone. You can use them on almost all of the WOR Dragons.

The "easiest" way to beat AtmaWeapon is to use Osmose or Rasp on him. You can kill him either by depleting his HP or MP, and he has FAR LESS MP than HP. Use all that MP you're stealing to keep healing your characters. For your party:
- Have Locke Steal until he gets the Ribbon relic.
- Terra should be casting magic left and right, alternating between healing, putting up helpful status magic, and throwing in the odd higher level elemental spell.
- Sabin should be using his most powerful Blitz available or Mantra to heal the rest of the party. Use him as magical backup if he has learned a lot of magic.
- Shadow should do what he does best: throw stuff. Throw any useless weapons from your inventory, then put him on item duty in case someone should die while attempting to heal. Don't be afraid to reach for an Elixir if you need to.

Vanish and X-Zone works on I believe almost everyone, even Atma can't escpae this ridiculously powerful glitch. I would definetly steal from Atma first to get the relic before use this attack though. Vanish/X-Zone is the best combination, I got to the WoR on level 13 due to this tatic, it's great because it allows me to level up with the more powerful espers who will give me better stat's during my level up's.

why dont you equiped the Amta Weapon (sword) that you find in the Empires castle its really strong and takes off about 5000 with weak characters that can use a sword Terra, Celes, Edgar its a really cool weapon, i have it equiped to celes at the mo but it still takes 6000 off with her
Not on topic: The Atmaweapon(Sword) damage increases with your max. hp.
On Topic: The osmose/rasp is a good strategy but worse comes to worse, just level a bit on the island or somewhere on the world map. You can always take the airship of the island.
