I've only had maybe 3 formal art classes in my entire life, but they've all been really rewarding and interesting.

The first class I had was an introduction to art deal where we tried out everything from acrylic to watercolor and of course the basic pencil drawing skills. Needless to say I learned relatively little in that class. :hmph:

My favorite one was AP Studio Art. Toughest year I've ever had. We had to come up with a dozen art pieces within 8 months and submit it for judging for the AP exams. I chose a war theme, and you can probably still see all of them in my art thread. :ahmed:

Anyone else had Art classes? If so, what did you like about them?

I took art classes a couple years back. I was hoping to become a better traditional artist, like learn more techniques. But the teacher was such a monotonous and boring teacher, who taught stuff I already knew. Even though I love art with a passion, I was literally falling asleep in his class. -_- Though when we were doing animation, I actually learned a lot there, because I want to be an animator for Pixar when I'm older. ;)

I'm joining Studio Art this year because it was either that or band. Teacher's the same because the other better art teacher retired. My brother told me that in our school, you only join Studio art if you're good, as in legit good. I told him I was legit good. He sighed saying I'm so dang cocky. :P I can't wait.

This is AP right? You pretty much have to be good because there's literally no time to do any lectures or anything. Maybe for the first couple weeks of school, but then you just dive right in to the portfolio.
