That in the Clearwater Marshes if you are near the northern wall right when you jump over the revene (sp?) there is a rock sticking out of the ground and the shadow doesn't match the shape of the rock at all:holyshit:. The shadow is shaped like the cactus with arms:gasp:. I haven't completed the game, wondering if this has to do with something later:wtf:? I am in the rain, haven't checked any other weather. It is pretty pointless:yawn: but just thought I would share. This probably has already been pointed out:oops:. But ehh whatever:wacky:.

The whole of Archylte Steppe area is based around the Cactuar. There's a rock like that, blatantly obvious, in the Grave Ridge area. It's a good observation, but it's not surprising considering the early side-quests there require you to activate the Cactuar Statues. XD And I've almost platinum'd the game and there is, to my knowledge, nothing special about the cactuar-shaped rocks.

If anything, I've only noticed that the cactuar-type enemies spawn more frequently around them and the Cactuar Statues. It helps to have Battlemania, though.

I figured I would post this in this post instead of starting a new one since it is about the same area. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong... I found all the Cactuar statues (all 5, and yes defeated the Giant Cactuar twice), but the gate still isn't unlocked. I have a Wild Artefact (I just realized they spell artifact "wrong") also. The one thing I do notice is that the statue that you fight the Giant Cactuar isn't showing up on my map. Only 4 statues appear on my map, but when I goto the statue it is "smoking" or whatever and I can't examine it.

1) They didn't spell Artefact wrong. That's just how it is spelled in this game's world. Lol.

2) You have to beat a Giant Cactuar three times. There's three of them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdVj-3rqsVI

3!? Damn I just stuck my foot in my mouth. Hmm, I wonder how I didn't fight a third one? Going to check it out now...

Oh I see, so there is 6 statues. I had the last on in the marshes in the rain already found by Mog, but I never examined it and fought the Cactaur.

The one in Clearwater Marshes during Stormy Weather is always one that can be missed, since it is difficult to get to the Clearwater Marshes area initially. It takes activating the yellow cactuar statue (there is a tornado in the background during Windy Weather), teleporting there, activating a red statue, then going to change the weather, as opposed to getting Anti-Grav Jump from a Fragment Skill or using a Chocobo. Haha.

How far along are you on the platinum? I think I'm right around 50% with 28 hours logged in.

88%-90%. Missing three trophies, which are: getting all the fragments, the paradox endings (I've seen all of them, except the secret ending), and then the platinum trophy itself.

How long has it taken you? I know the guide suggests right around 60 hours, but I'm pretty sure I can clear it in much less.

I actually just platinumed the game. It has taken me 75 hours, however if you shave off the 6 hours it took me to get the Lucky Coin Fragment (7,777 Coins won by slots only), and about 5 hours for filling up the Bestiary (which I found out means nothing, as the stupid Fiend Killer fragment skills also prevents you from gaining items from the battles), then it really took me 64 hours. You could probably even shave off even more time from watching/re-watching cutscenes and FMVs.

The Lucky Coin Fragment and winning 10,000 coins is what I'm dreading the most. I just put another hour or so in and now I'm up to 56%. My last trophy was for earning Don Tonberry.

The 10,000 Coins trophy is honestly really easy if you go the Chocobo Racing Route, and use a Silver Chocobo Racing Build that is online. The races become ridiculously easy to win, and if you're doing the Fal'Cie Cup races (350-460 Coins per getting 1st Place, plus you can place a 100 Coin bet and have it multiplied if you get 1st Place by 2.2 all the way to 10.6 or even 13.1 for odds of your Chocobo winning) that trophy becomes a joke.

For the Lucky Coin Fragment I seriously turned my TV off, kept my finger on L1 for autoplay in the slots, had 11,000 coins from Chocobo Races, and just watched Doctor Who for four hours on Netflix lol.

I just have a basic level 27 Silver chocobo. I haven't really messed with all of the fusion stuff. I will eventually.

I think I may just tie a rubber band down on my controller and try the 777 frag. Probably go out and do something while its going on.

Sorry, I have to close this thread because it's going off topic.
OP, if you need more help in the game, just post a new thread :)
The rest, you can discuss your path to platinum in the FFXIII-2 general discussion or via PMs.
