Anybody replaying FF7 again?

Wow, you guys are actually replaying VII. It's been more than three years since I've played it but then I've finished it over three times and I even played it when it first came out(I would have been less than 8 yrs old). I would love to play it again but I simply can't anymore. After getting used to a PS2, my eye's hurt with the PS1 graphics and also, my disc is already malfunctioning(the battle scenes are delayed and some parts of the world won't load). Anyone, it was memorable for me. I remember getting a wonderful chocobo on my first finish(I had no idea what it was then so i didn't save the game) and i never got it again. Looks like I'll never get that chocobo...

In this recent wave of Crisis Core euphoria, I'm willing to gamble it's not just me that's decided to pick up FF7 again.

Well I hope it's not anyway, otherwise I'll feel pretty lonely.

Actually, the other reason why I'm playing again is also because it's the 10th anniversary of FF7 still, and coincidentally the last time I properly played the game was that whole decade ago.

So I'm kinda intrigued in how my older self will interpret the game, compared to the younger barely teen me who wouldn't have appreciated the subtler or deeper nuances of the game, and was more obsessed about Tifa's chest and whether Aeris and Cloud did it in the Gold Saucer gondola.

It's been worth it so far though, because I discovered something completely new to me in this new playthrough that I had never found out before. It's pretty inconsequential and has no bearing on the story, but: At the slum church where you first meet Aeris for the second time after crashing through the roof, you can run around inside there while you wait for her to sort her flowers out. If you run outside and behind the open church door and press the action button, a text box will come up of somebody saying "I'll give you two a moment". I found this really cool, because that's obviously Reno talking to you, even though you can't see him yet. Then when you go back and talk to Aeris at the flower bed area, Reno officially walks into the church with the Shinra guards as back-up.

So even playing again for only 2 hours so far has already been worth it.

no i have been playing FFVII again. the game is a classic, and i will never be able to fully say i quit this game. different story for say IX or X. but VII is what started it for me. the storyline and characters juss draw me into the game to where I dont wanna quit.

Ooh, first post.:P

Huge FF fan here, VII was my first and is still my favourite game ever. I haven't played them all though, been meaning to check out IX for some time. (that's what I get for selling my PS for a N64) Basically I'm waiting for FFXIII to be released to buy a PS3, cannot wait.

Must've played through this one over five times, before selling my Playstation years ago to get a Nintendo 64. Long story short, I've owned a PS2 for a fair while and missed this game so I bought it back over eBay and am now replaying it. :D

Hasn't lost any of it's charm. I've been reading these forums for a few weeks, gah, how can people hate Aeris, greatest caster in the group! Anyway, I'm trying to level her limit up (and everyone elses too). And now I'm grossly overpowered, haha. Just up to Mt. Nibel. Having an absolute blast all over again, it's the greatest game I've ever played.

I was replaying VIII til my disc buggered up, so started up VII and forgot how good it was! Just Left Kalm and doin a bit of leveling before catching the chocobo.

Can't wait to do loads of stuff, like the arcade section in the golden saucer, or the battle gamr near Junon. Think thats what adds value to VII its uber fun :neomon:
