Another Newbie Question!

OK, so I didn't read the walk-through manual and I sold a bunch of those black orbs that I captured in the Pharos. Finish laughing....

Now I'm in the penumbra. Of course, now almost none of the creatures are giving up orbs. I am guessing that placing orbs keeps the real nasties at bay, like back under Nalbina - except at Pharos I deal with super-nasties.

First: do the orbs ACTUALLY keep the real nasties at bay?

Second: where do I get more? They are just not poppng like the first time on my way up the Pharos!

Help! Please and thanks....

i had the same problem...and i know this much

to get black orbs you have to fight the monsters inside the rooms...

i honestly dont know if it "scares" away the stronger mosters...but i remember having to fight the same monsters no matter how lit up the rooms were...

i didnt want to wait to fight all those monsters so i ran along the walls in the dark to get through it lol

I didn't seem to have much problem finding orbs. Probably one out of every three will drop an orb. An i'm not sure if you know this or not, but if you leave the orbs when they are dropped they will fly away to a "big" orb and will be worth 3 times as much. The big orbs are located at random spots with in the floors, usually one of the four corners you haven't been to yet. I hope it helps. Good luck!
