I'm just watching some vet program and it had 3 puppies on there that had been seriously neglected, had no fur & they had mange. They looked like they were falling to bits. One of them died which typically, set me off :wacky:

I don't understand why people get animals if they are going to be that cruel, it's disgusting and pointless. It makes me so mad

I shouldn't watch these things really -_-

I know what you mean, Animal Cruelty is something that really upsets me. Like, in RE we had to watch a series of videos on Animal Testing, and I just...couldn't watch them, they were sick and wrong. Animals shouldn't be treat like that.

Animal cruelty always makes me cry. I've joined a couple of organizations and donated money, but it saddens me every time I go to the animal shelter and see all these animals that were neglected and rescued.

If people cannot take care of their pets, they should not be able to have them. It's so easy nowadays for people to get pets, and unlike humans, pets can't scream for help, call help in anyway, or seek help unless someone else sees it happening.

I hate Animal Cruelty. I cannot stand the way people think it is acceptable to literally attack a living creature. It's horrible. Why buy an animal or keep a pet if that is what you want to do to them?

I also find animal cruelty to be horrible. There are some detestable people out there.

The Michael Vick case comes to mind. The man hangs, guts and drowns dogs with his bare hands after forcing them to fight one another. Sick.

There's worse than that. Some extremely cruel people out there flay animals alive for their hides.

We only need to kill animals for food, and when they become pests and vermin. Medical experimentation is also neccessary, of course. Can't say fairer than that.

Animal cruelty is about one of the most upsetting things in the world to see, in my opinion... I don't pretend to understand it, 'nor do I have any sympathy for those who are caught doing it... Horrible.

I'm hardly going to come out with something revolutionary here but ... I just cannot get my head around whatever feeble reasoning people give.

It bothered me so much that, for a large part of my life, I wanted to do something in Animal Protection and even considered Veterinary. I've seen quite a few mistreated animals, particularly horses (whenever there was a show at the stables) and cats (there were quite a few underfed and petrified cats at the cattery, where I worked).

Reading or hearing about animal cruelty always makes me feel physically sick. I cried when I read in the paper about a man who ran over a cat ten times to "put it out of it's misery", and somebody who chopped off a dog's legs... It even makes me feel sick thinking about it. >< I just can't understand how people can be so heartless, although then again, I also can't understand why people would kill/harm other people, which is no different in my opinion.

It was sickening, these poor mutts had no fur or anything. The other two actually made a full recovery but I felt so sorry for the one that died. It was so pointless

I hate it when they have to be put down because of someones despicable actions. And to think, they call themselves human

My mums cousin was an arse with animals, she had a dog that she didn't want so she DUMPED it and the cat we used to hae was rescued because she didn't want her, I can't really remember much about that though, fucking hell, if you don't want it there are better ways to go about it

OMFG. That is sick. I've never heard about that guy before, but he sounds like a twisted freak. I seriously can't understand why people would do that to another living thing. It's wrong.

Professional american football player. Sadly, he was a very popular role model for the youth over here. Can't imagine many people looking up to the likes of him anymore.

I used to be in the Animal Rights Club, so I've seen my fair share of animal cruelty videos and pictures. I typically don't pay any attention to it unless it's brought to my attention from some other source. For instance, while in Florida during Spring Break, we were waiting at an intersection and my friend (who wants to become a vet) screams as a giant truck with a whole bunch of chicken cages in the back drives by. Probably the most disturbing part is the fact that we all knew those chickens' fates.

I dunno, the fact that such treatment of animals in the world doesn't terribly upset me, but it is very sad (and angering sometimes). I think my emotions on the subject aren't developed enough because of how much media attention is given to it. I think that if I was more knowledgeable on everything that happens to animals in the world, I would be much more distressed.

Another thing that bothers me is how people associate 'animal cruelty' with only pets. Non-domestic animals are tested on and brutalized as well, so I think we need to realize just how many animals are being affected by man.

:stare: I need to stop watching these programs, some guy had a load of cats, they all just lived outside I think. I don't think he was deliberately cruel but he still could hve taken them to the vets and got them treated. They all had cat-flu and eye problems, half of them were missing at least one eye because the infections were so bad, even the kittens

They took 42 cats to the vets and everyylast one of them had to be put down <_<

It was all totally treatable and he just let them suffer unnecassarily
