I was just wondering, how many hours do you have to put in average to finish the main story line in this game?
 
I was done around 80. I could ahve finished before, but I'm always prone to elaving my PS2 on and running while I go grab something to eat, go shovel snow, or go hang-gliding, etc.

But 80 hours when I beat the end boss.

Ya know...I never looked into it cuz frankly I could care less about the timer, but it dawns on me that I do this as well...but I pause the game...Does time run during the black "pause" screen???
 
No I don't think so....if it does then Pause is pointless. i think they put it in so that when you leave it one there isn't music annoying you or something along those lines.
 
I dont think the pause screen adds time but im not sure about the menu screen?? I'll sometimes leave it on there instead of pause but I wonder if it does? Plus I take my time running around doing stupid stuff like leveling up and getting loot so my time when im done will probably be some ridiculous number
 
pause stops the timer, the menu does not.

i had about 125 hours in it when i beat it, but i still had some stuff left over. and my characters were at level 87 or so.

you need to be lvl 87 to beat the last boss :S ??
 
No, if you are at level 87 when you beat the last boss, you will overkill almost every boss in Bahamut before you face the final one. You can easily beat the boss at level 50-60.
 
lol 87 is about right for yiazmat (which is the hardest boss in game)
 
sorry for the nooby question, but is yiazmat one of the optional espers?
 
i only fought the espers for completion purposes and fun
although zodiark was a little hard
you should level up before fighting him though

wasn't it you that wrote in the other thread that you bought gear for all your characters?? how in the world did you manage to make the extra gil and finish the main story in only 30 hours??
