Hey folks... I'm new here, I actually created an account specifically to post this question because it's driving me f'ing insane.
I've just started playing FF IV on the GBA. The last time I experienced this game was 10+ years ago on the SNES, so my guess is that I'm simply misremembering, but I need to know for sure.
I could have sworn that if you chose WAIT from the Config menu instead of ACTIVE, during battles you wouldn't see the ATB meter. Instead, you'd see each character's current HP and Max HP. 100\999, or whatever. I happened to much prefer it that way because otherwise I have to keep in the back of my mind how much max HP each character has, so I know when it's getting low. And it doesn't help that the max HP freakin' changes with level up. 100 HP for Cecil might be nearly max in the early game, but dangerously low ten hours and untold levels later.
Am I out of my mind in thinking there's some way to see the current\max HP in the battle screen instead of that stupid meter? Is that something that was possible in SNES and went away with Advance? Or am I just thinking of another game entirely?
