I really hope this game is decent. I love games like Fallout, Oblivion, Mass Effect, etc. This is basically in the same league. Hell it's developed by Obsidian, who helped develop the KOTOR games, which is also of the same vein.
I already know the weapon "leveling" system might bug me a bit. It all depends how it's done. It's actually done in the same way Mass Effect's weapon system is done, as far as both control and leveling. I personally just don't like the idea that someone can be a deadly marksman with a handgun but can't figure out which end of the assault rifle makes the loud noises.
There are some things I've heard though that I've liked, specifically weapon customization. I'm not sure why this isn't a feature in more games. I think hacking into a weapons cache and acquiring a 10x filtered scope is kickass, if it can be customized onto any weapon. Think how much Fallout and Mass Effect would have benefited from more rugged customization systems.
Apparently it doesn't come out until October, which sucks, but it should be killer when it arrives.
