So, despite the quality of the movie and the lack of time in the fight, can we agree that this was an excellent fight? Yes, probably. I want to ask you all, what are your views on the fight?

Talk about the song if you like, too :)

That fight was amazing! Plain and simple.

Just whatching Lord Sephiroth beat the crap out of that punk Cloud is good enough but there is so much more to it then that.

In the fight Sephiroth never grunts or shows any sign of exertion while Cloud is getting very tired very quickily and is grunting and panting quite a lot.
Also Sephiroth never blinks not once in the entire time he is present. He has evolved beyond Humanity in many ways including the need to blink.

It is only Sepiroth's arrogance and hatred of Cloud that causes him to loose tha battly. His hatred makes him want to make Cloud suffer as much as possible ence why he does not kill Cloud when he has the chance. His arrogance makes him think he can get away with it and makes him underestimate Cloud.

"Tell me what you cherish most. Give me the pleasure of taking it away."

If Sephiroth had never said that he would have won that fight. However saying that induced Cloud's anger and gave him the strength to do Omnislash Vr5 which was enough to destroy Sephiroth's physical form once again.
However Sephiroth has surppased death and can never truly die.

The music is excellent aswell the perfect fusion of Rock and Classical music. Perfection in a song.

Excellent and extremely accurate analysis of the battle :)

I enjoyed the battle very much and they seemed to have Sephiroth's character nailed in terms of movement and facial features. Like Tethar said, the reason Sephiroth lost the battle was because of his arrogance, which is an aqurate portrail of Sephiroth's character.

So yes, it was a good fight though I would have hoped it to go on a little longer. there is no way that Sephiroth could have been defeaten in under seven minutes in a battle. If Cloud and Sephiroth were as equally matched as thought out to be, then the fight should ahve continude for a while. But of course it was a movie, so it wasn't as if they could carry it on for hours.

You have to interpret it differently. Remember that all the characters are lvl 99. If Cloud had not used his Omni Slash he wouldn't have beat him, but at lvl 99 your omni slash does incredible dmg. If he hadn't used it I believe the fight would of gone on for longer, only because Sephiroth was cocky.

See you also have to remember that, as Tethar said, Sephiroth is beyond human so he is stronger, faster and smarter then Cloud in a lot of respects.

The only way that fight could have been better would be if Sephiroth killed Cloud.

What can I say? I hate Cloud and Sephiroth is the best thing to happen to Final Fantasy. What do you expect?

Had Sephiroth kept his head and continued to fight, he would have surely won. Cloud was weakened, but was given a boost when he told Cloud he was going to take away what he cherished most. Cloud felt a rush of emotion and with that, he gained the initiative and won ... stupid arrogance.

Estuans interius, ira vehementi (something about "burning inside with violent anger) This symbolises the essence of Sephiroth in FFVII

Nole manere manere in memoria (wont remain, remain in memory)
This symbolises the quote:

I will never be a memory

I agree. If FFVII:AC had Advent One-Winged Angel with the original lyrics, but kept the drum kit and guitars, it would be a piece of music even better than it is now.

Ummm...It would be more like "Estuans Interius Ira Wehemanti sephiroth!" then the cool rock music.
