Advent Children Review

Wrong section man.
I got annoyed with all the bull he was saying that I couldn't finish watching the clip.
FF7AC is a good movie it has great visual effects, it has great voice acting, it has good graphics, and most of all it had a good storyline. All in all the guy is just retarded for saying that the movie was that bad. It was great plain and simple.

Nice find, my favorite part was the Panasonic Joke.

Aside from the graphics and voice acting, this movie really wasn't that great. The plot was semi-interesting but it just had too many flaws. The 'healing' water in the church is one of the lamest plot devices I've seen from the FF series. The new characters were just boring and Sephiroths appearance at the end is done in an extremely shit and random way.

I've seen this movie twice, Once before playing FFVII and once after. But both times I saw it, I had a hard time understanding what was going on. I think the plot is done very badly, it is hard to follow and make sense of it without having to discuss it or read up on it.

The most annoying thing I found with the film though was the way the FFVII world was portrayed. When I watched it before playing FFVII I thought that FFVII was all about a sad yet disturbingly attractive man called Cloud who had a big sword and was a super cool fighter in a dark, grey, miserable world. Then when I fired up FFVII I saw fun and colorful places like Costa del sol and the Gold Saucer.

I also saw humor with scenes such as the one where Cloud dresses up as a woman. That's another thing which really annoyed me about Advent Children, it took itself far too seriously, it was all about cool looking characters fighting which eventually got boring.

So all in all I agree with thatguyinthesuade.

Half-asses storyline with filler material added in. That's it, more milking of the FFVII series.

Graphics were nice, action was alright, voice acting was alright, but storyline was a bit on the dire side. It was simply fanservice. Stick to making games, not movies.

The guys right in saying the story was poor etc

lololol at him supposedly being retarded. Poor comment to make. VERY poor. Just shows how silly people can get.

Oh wow. GuyintheSuade is my personal hero for making a Rocky Horror reference to FF. I...think... I'm... in... love...

Also: Frankenfurter - WAY sexier than Kadaj and Rufus - way sexier than Dr. Scott :P

Joking aside, the guy is right. Though, I think he really should have expected pure, shallow fanservice when going into the movie. I for one was very apprehensive about a Final Fantasy 7 sequel, especially after the release of FFX2. Plus, from all the trailers and character designs you could pretty much get the gist of what the movie was going to be like.

I guess I've just given the movie the benefit of the doubt because it didn't end up as bad as I thought it was going to be. That still does not make it a good movie though considering: plot that was very loosely tied together, scenes that do nothing to further the movie's storyline, sometimes weird characterization (hastily justified in further addition to the compilation), character design changes (when did Cloud go from a bug muscular Norseman to an efeminate Japanese popstar?) and random unexplained new characters. That's just hitting the surface of what was wrong with that movie.

I think, in order to really appreciate what the movie is worth you have to discard all preconcieved expectations and take it at face value. Final Fantasy: Advent Children was never intended to be a film. At most, it was an halfhearted attempt at an action movie made in order to milk the FF7 fandom for all it's worth. Basically, a necessary measure to take when attempting to enjoy FF:AC is to simply turn your brain off and... watch all the prettiness unfold on the screen! Oh look... pretty Cloud... pretty Sephiroth... ohhh Aeris I know her... :wacky:

It's not like alot of Hollywood movies are much better.
