About the chocobos

Well, if I remember correctly... You need to go to the Snowy Mountains area near the Inn town and get the Wonderful Chocobo there. But there's more that you need to do than that. You need to race the Black and Wonderful chocobos, making them S or A rank. (Mine are A rank and gave birth to a Gold Chocobo. 
) Then you give them the Zero nut, I believe it was, which you get from Goblin Island near the Chocobo Ranch. After they are S or A rank, then give them the nut and you'll have yourself a Gold Chocobo!

I just remembered! Did you know that you can meet the Chocobo Sage near the town of Icical Inn? (Sorry if I mispell some names...) He's inbetween the mountains close to town. There's enough green grass to land you airship there. (That is, if you already know about him... ^^; )

Only thing I can add to what has already been said, is when you are choco hunting round the iccicle inn area, you will have to capture loads of chocobos before you get a wonderful one, I just kept getting weak after wak after weak, until I eventuially go one and it was the wrong ex....
If taht happens, just breed another black one, til you get the right sex for it mate with the wonderful, I had NO luck trying to fins a wonderful female, so I just gave up and rebred my greeen and blue so I could mate one D:
It's a Zeio nut btw, also, make sure you completely max their stats with Sylkis greens to improve your chances of breeding a gold, getting them both to S class racers shouldn't be a problem either

Actualy maxing the chocobo's stats don't effect the chance of getting a gold chocobo. That just produces a better offspring no matter the type. And helps with increasing their rank. You can actualy get a gold chocobo just by breeding the correct chocobo together. All ranking does in increase the chance. My tip is to save outside the ranch and just reset till you get a gold chocobo.

yeah usally I get mine to rank B (which is quarter assing it) and breed until I get the color and sex I'm looking for. If I don't get what I'm looking for I soft reset and try again. Saves time from battling and raceing. Like Said chances as slim but you can try as many times in a row.
