Original A Tentative Script

[Yaoi Master Gavin]

So I've had the idea to do a movie in final fantasy style. I'm going to be posting up scenes as I write them. There will be another thread for comments and suggestions. Remember this is just a tentative script. If it turns out nice I may do it.

Preface:

[A darkened room with a pool of water in the center. Standing over it is a black-cloaked figure. Their face is unseen and it is unknown if they are male or female. They stir the waters with a single finger]

Cloaked Figure: The time is growing near. Soon, the boundaries shall be torn asunder and a destiny will be thrust upon those that do not want it. The evils of humanity are awakening....

[Fades to black]

Act One, Scene One

[A local college's commons in the evening. A large group of gamers are sprawled out over several tables. Card games and computers litter the tables. At one of the tables is an thin, red-brown haired man and a slightly older man with light brown hair sitting opposite him. The two are involved in a game of Yu-gi-oh.]

Younger man: I'll activate my Heavy Strom card and destroy all spells and traps on the fields. Then I'll have my Ancint Sacred Wyvern attack your D.D Scout Plane for 10,600. And that is game, Josh.

Josh: Damn, Alex. I had a Magic Cylinder hidden just for that. You've really sped that deck up.

Alex: Enough playtesting with you guys helps. Before we start the next duel, I'm gonna go take a break.

[Alex gets up and walks to the bathrom. Camera pans to follow him to the corridor. Camera change to show him walkinginto the bathroom. As he passes between the stalls and the urinals, the lights begin flickering.]

Alex: Cheap-ass college....

[A purple tear in space opens up for a few seconds before shutting as quickly as it appeared.]

Alex: ...the fuck?

[The tear reopens and Alex blacks out after hearing a loud screeching noise. He is seen lying on the floor as the camera fades.]

Alex: (mutters) ...damn...

Act One, Scene Two

[A young man is walking down a street in the evening. A crackling noise sounds behind him.]

Young man: I know you're following me...

[Silence. The young man turns around.]

YM: No one there...

[He turns back around and continues walking. Again, a crackling noise sounds from behind him. He whirls around.]

YM: C'mon, I know you're there.

[Still, silence. He closes his eyes.]

YM: It's nothing Zack. No one is following you home this time.

[The crackling noise sounds again. Zack's eyes flash open to find a purple tear opening in front of him.]

Zack: The hell is that?! (Peers into the tear) I can't see anything...

[A loud screeching noise sounds. Zack's eyes flutter before he falls to the ground unconscious. Camera fades.]

Act One, Scene Three

[Opens in a room where a long haired man sits at his computer, seemingly doing homework. A final click before he leans back with his arms crossed.]

Man: Finally, my English paper is finished.

Faint Voice: Cliff! Get off the computer and take care of Dad!

Cliff: (calling back) Fine! {followed by unintelligible muttering.}

[He quickly saves the file and reaches down to turn off the computer. As the computer powers down, he hears a crackling noise.]

Cliff: That's not right...

[Reaches down to power it up again. The same crackling noise is heard]

Cliff: It sounds like...it's behind me?? (Looks at still black computer screen to see reflection. Camera shifts in front of him to show crack.) A purple...crack...?

[Falls unconscious at desk with head hitting keyboard. Camera fades.]

FV: Cliff!! Get in here!

Act One, Scene Four

[Alex, Zack and Cliff are lying in the same room as the pool of water. Zack is the first to awaken.]

Zack: Damn, that hurts. (rubs his temple) I swear my ears are still ringing...(looks around him) Where am I? (looks next to him at Cliff) And who the hell are you?

Cliff: (blinks) Why am I on the floor? (turns to look at Zack after sitting up) I could ask you the same question.

Alex: (with eyes closed) Can you two shut it? You're too bloody loud. I already have a headache and you're not helping.

Cliff: You can shut it. For that matter, go on over to the corner, away from me.

Zack: Why don't you shut it and think. There must be a reason why we're here.

Cliff: Oh really? And why are we here?

Alex: (proping himself up on his hand, obviously not going to get the silence he wants) I would assume it has something to do with the purple crack.

Zack: You saw the crack too? There wasn't anything in there.

Cliff: Now you're telling us you got to look inside one of the cracks.

Zack: Does that mean you saw a crack too?

Cliff: Of course. Then there was that screeching noise.

Alex: the one that sounded liek scraping metal?

Cliff: Right.

Zack: Sounded like something was being torn apart.

[Cloaked figure appears with a shimmering in the air.]

CF: That is correct, Zack. The boundaries of your world have split and your world has divided into seven new worlds.

Cliff: (shocked) Who are you?

Alex: Clearly it's the person who saved us, if what he says is true. And what exactly do you mean by the boundaries have split?

CF: I am the Keeper of the Dimensions. As for your question, Alex, your world is a convergence for the human forces. You would call them the Seven Deadly Sins, the evils that influence decisions. In small doses, they can be beneficial but now they have split the dimensioanl barrier that keeps them contained. Your world has been split into seven worldlets, each extolling a single force in monumental proportions.

Zack: So what you're telling us is that our world has been split in seven, each dedicated to a different sin?

KotD: Correct.

Cliff: Then why us?

KotD: Because you, Cliff, are the inheritor or the guardians, along with Alex and Zack. Guardians of the Barrier.

Alex: How do you expect us to fix it then? What can we even do?

KotD: You will know your weapon when you see it... THrough this door, (guestures to a nearby door) you will find the epicenter of the barrier.

[KotD walks to stand beside Alex and kneels to place a white orb in his hand.]

KotD: That orb will transport you where you need to go next. Now go, before the tethers that keep your world connected are severed.

[The three men stand and one by one walk through the noted door, now glowing a blinding white.]

KotD: Will they save their world or destroy it? It is too soon to tell...

[Camera fades.]

Act One, Scene Five

[The three men are now standing in a brightly lit field. The bright sun forcing them to blink after the previously dim room.]

Cliff: Where are we now?

Alex: Weren't you listening? We're at the origin of of the barrier.

Zack: I'm still wondering about the weapons that we're supposed to be using...

Cliff: I don't even know how to use a weapon.

Alex: Don't worry. The Keeper said we would know. Our weapons must be around here somewhere. Why else would they send us here first?

Cliff: To fuck with us?

Zack: What would the Keeper have for doing that to us?

[Cliff shrugs. They begin walking through the field and come to a dense forest. They enter it, following the beaten trail before them. Soon after Cliff stumbles over an exposed root.]

Cliff: (on the ground) ...damn...

[Alex turns around and jogs back to Cliff.]

Alex: Hey, Zack! Hold up! (offers Cliff a hand up) You alright, man? Cliff, right?

Cliff: (takes the proffered hand) Yeah, and my name is Cliff. And you're...Alex?

Alex: Right. (smiles) And he's Zack.

Zack: (calling out) C'mon you two!

Alex: He's right, ya know. Unless we have our weapons there really isn't anything we can do.

Cliff: (stands up and looks behind Alex) What's that?

Alex: (looks behind him) Umm...there's nothing there...

Zack: (jogging back) What's the hold up?

Alex: Apparently, Cliff saw something.

Cliff: I'm still seeing it! It's a huge sword against that tree behinid you, Alex.

[Both Alex and Zack turn around.]

Alex: Not seeing anything.

Zack: Same.

Cliff: (walking towards the sword) You're telling me you can't see this? (grabs sword and holds it in front of him with both hands.)

[Both Zack and Alex jump backward at the huge sword that has semmingly appeared in Cliff's hands.]

Alex: The fuck did that come from?!

Zack: The sword's huge. How can you even wield it?

Cliff: I don't know. It just feels right.

Alex: That must be what the Keeper meant by we would know.

Zack: (turning toward Alex) So that means our weapons are out here too.

Alex: Looks like it. At least now we know what were looking for.

[They continue walking through the forest and come out over a creek.]

Alex: Peaceful around here.

Zack: Yeah...I wonder if the entire barrier is like this?

Cliff: It probably is when the barrier is intact.

Zack: That's right. Th barrier has been splintered. At least the origin is holding. (looks back at Alex) Where'd Alex go?

[Zack and Cliff run back to where Alex was standing and see him walign down the creekbed. They follow him down to the creekbed terminus. As they follow they call oput to him yet to no avail.]

Zack: What the idea with dragging us down here?

Cliff: There's nothing here at all...

Alex: (back turned toward them) Really? Nothing?

[Alex spins around. Camera shifts to a side view where the tip of a sword is now in Zack's face.]

Alex: I wouldn't call this nothing. Almost six foot long and completely black. It suits me...

Cliff: How can you wield something that long with only one hand?

Alex: The same way you can hold yours. This is my weapon.

Zack: Which only leaves mine. A sword I would guess, given what the two of yours.

Cliff: We could also assume its just as absurd as ours. We shouldn't even be able to wield our weapons.

Alex: Weve gotten our weapons by following this trail so far.

Zack: Then we keep going.

[They leave the creekbed and cross over a mountain path, ending up in a clearing with a firepit.]

Cliff: Looks like someone has been here.

Zack: Not for a long time. The ashes have completely disentegrated. (Reaches into the ashes to feel) Yeah, by the feel I would say several years ago at least.

Cliff: And how would you know this?

Zack: (absentmindedly) Because I play with fire... (seemingly finds something in the ashes) Hmm...? (reaches in with both hands and tugs) Woah! (falls backward with a weapon in each hand) So this is my weapon....

[Both Alex and Cliff run over to see what happened.]

Cliff: I expected it to be larger.

Alex: I was expecting it to be a single blade.

Zack: A sword and dagger... I guess we're all armed and ready.

Alex: (pulls out white orb) This is supposed to transport us where we're to go next. Or at least I think so...

Cliff: How does it work?

Alex: I don't know...

Zack: Nothing obvious on it.

[The orb flashes and the three of them fade out.]
