I saw somewhere on the forum that Balthier and Ashe got married, did they? I just beat it again and didn't see anything that had to do with Balthier and Ashe getting married. Maybe I didn't look right?

No...Balthier took Ashe's wedding ring earlier on in the game, and he returned it to her at the end...

Never married...

Yeah, I knew that, but i saw they got married and how they couldn't believe it, well thanks for clearing that up for me.

It actually might have been a Relevant (spelling) Wings spoiler. There are some serious Balthier-Ashe feelings going back and forth at the end. WHich... grrrr... does again play into Star Wars (dammit)... but who knows if they get hitched in the sequel or not.

lol Whatever, it's in your font now Busta. Huzzah for the re-opening!

I never heard about that before, but...that's so Leia and Hans Solo..=x

I hardly believe anything serious will happen between the two. Balthier is a free spirit, and I do not see him being tied down by Marriage.

Pffft, who forgot to pick you up prom night? Geez... cold, lady. They said there were going to be romantic links in the sequel. I always assumed Vaan and Penelo... but Balthier does hit on Ashe a lot in the game. I never thought anything much of it until Ashe does a lot of worrying about him at the end.

Aztec, where did you get the information that there would be serious feeling going on between Ashe and Balthier in RW. I heard that romance would be involved, but only between Vaan and Penelo. Also, while I've heard many sources state RW as a direct sequel, to the best of my knowledge, Squre-Enix is still calling it a spinoff.

Also, I would have liked to have seen a little romance in XII between the two, but I have to agree with Judge Rulia. Major Spoiler Rulia, if you're not this far into the game.
Although I felt Balthier was more on the run not wanting to face the pain of watching his father being consumed by evil and greed for power (I'll stop there without spoiling to much).
I can see why she felt Balthier was to much of a free spirit to be tied down.

Sorry, Mods... I know this is getting way off topic, but I had to throw my 2 pennies into it.

SPOILERS

Actually, have you played the whole game? That's not to be insulting but most of our European crowd isn't at the end yet. But when Balthier's father, Dr. Cid, dies... his dying words are "Shouldn't you be running?" and he replies with "My running days are over" or something like that. It was the same significance with Balthier handing over his airship to Vaan at the end. He's giving up his life of running and being a sky pirate to be more stable. Reddas even makes the comment that Vaan is getting to be more of a sky pirate than Balthier is.

But yea, if you've watched the end of the game, there's no question that she has feelings for him. If you've made it to the Bahamut, it's pretty clear. When the Bahamut is crashing into Rabanastre, Balthier says back and helps get the ship's engine's online. The whole time Ashe is really worried about the guy. She's yelling to him to be safe, when he gets hurt, she yells more. They pretty clearly show her feelings for him, IMO

Thats cool, no offense taken :) but you just said it yourself, Judge Rulia and the UK audience might not have gotten that far into the game since it just came out in the UK. Because of that I felt the whole prom date cold comment was a little harsh.

SPOILERS!

I did finish and yeah I did realize all of that. Actually, because of everything you just touched on, I though that in the very end we would see the two of them getting together. However, those of us that finished all know Balthier had Vaan return the ring to Ashe instead of doing it himself. Also, Balthier does reposes his Air Ship and continues his Sky Pirate ways. Lol... Borrrrrring!

Sorry, I'm gonna go way off topic here :P

This is why I felt the ending was COLD and it SUCKED! With everything the party experiences and goes through together, they just "abruptly" cut through the end FMV (Very Little Emotion To It At All) and the fact that Cindy Brady narrated the entire end completely made me loose all interest.

Like I've said before, I loved the game itself and there was so much left unexplained plus unexplored, that as a die hard fan, I can only hope it was done by design so that Square-Enix could make an excellent sequel on a real console.

Lol... This is why I have a such a strong dislike with the idea of RW being a direct sequel.

I don't like the idea of RW at all really. I'm anti-spin-off, but think Squenix will listen to me? I doubt it.

I liked the ending because it gave you open minded thoughts to dwell on for a while. You can question all of these things, but we DON'T KNOW for sure yet. I think the 2 have something overtly going on deep down within, but I don't think it will be acted out upon in Revenant Wings (not Relevent, Aztec!).

But yeah, when Squenix first starting dropping hints on RW, I'm pretty sure it's mainly focused on Vaan and Penelo's sky-pirating adventures together. They are still to young to be dating though. :P

ive still gotta complete the goddam game!! lol im stuck :'( whats the south ward key thingy i need to get it to open the door lol
