[28/08] Final Fantasy XIV launch popular Forced to halt sales!

Good news For Square Enix in a way.

Final Fantasy XIV launch has been very successful... Now the bad news. If you got the game you have already probably tried to play it and have been jammed up with over crowded servers, or have not been able to get on all together.

In light of this Square Enix has announced that they have stopped (for the time being) all digital sales of Final Fantasy XIV while they try to fix servers to meet current demand of people wanting to play.

Now do not think this was just some oversight from Square Enix, many MMO's, especially the more popular ones, have had this problem on the release date. Square Enix is asking people be patient while they meet the demand for people wanting to play this game.


Also on some related news, Square is also refusing to let people make videos of Final Fantasy XIV. Although this isn't the first company to try and stop the popular yet controversial "Let's Plays" that pop up on the internet, It should be noted that they wont allow any of it anywhere without their approval.

Here are the "official" terms for the use of "materials usage license"

• The video must not require a paid membership for viewing;
• You may not monetize your video via the YouTube partner program or any similar programs on other video sharing sites.
• You may not split our videos (vocal, music, visual, etc.) and distribute components as separate assets;
• You may not combine or synchronize the Materials with third party content (e.g., a mash-up), but you may include the Materials alongside third party content (e.g., before or after in the same video) as long as you also have permission from the original copyright owner);
• The video must not contain racist, sexist, homophobic or generally offensive content of any kind. This includes graphic violence or sexually explicit content.
