So the first appointment with the therapist went well. We didn't talk a whole lot about my problems, but rather got to know each other, clear that awkward stuff out of the way. Told her about the gender identity stuff. She's not as experienced with the subject as one of the other therapist is who works with the issue, but I'm not looking for an expert. I'm looking for a therapist I can get along with and feel comfortable with, which i do with her.

Over all it went well. Went by fast too, which was surprising really. I was a little nervous telling her about certain things but her reaction wasn't one i had to worry about. It was more of a "oh" reaction. She's nice a little quiet, but over all I think I'm going to stick with her until it's time to move to an actual gender therapist. IF i even need one, that is.

Awesome. That's a great first step, and clicking with the therapist is arguably the most important aspect, so I'm glad that all went well. Stick with it, and if you're comfortable sharing your progress here, I'd be interested in how it all shakes out.

Yay, I'm happy for you. As I mentioned in the last thread you created, therapists can be great for communicating and getting everything out in the open: issues, fears, goals, desires, etc. They're there to listen so yeah, some of them will be quiet. My therapist is pretty talkative, but then again she's dealing with quite a different case. Anyhow enough of that, I hope it continues to go well with you. Keep me posted if you don't mind, I'm more than willing to read about it and maybe even share some of my own thoughts too, if it's cool with you. ^_^
