Multiple Platforms King of Fighters series

Great set of fighting games that is joint favourite with Street Fighter for me as the pinnacle of 2d fighters. I liked the intricacies of the systems, they're the sort of games that reward you for putting time and effort into your characters ala Virtua Fighter. Which means fireball spammers and...

    First video game

It's strange that despite not having touched these games for at least a decade, the stage music and sfx plays ever so resoundingly in my head. Whereas, if you asked me about the recent hits like say God of War or Halo, I could hardly remember any track from them. Such is the melodic power of...

    Your favourite game soundtrack?

After giving some time and thought over the years, I think I have now come up with a concrete list of my favourites: 1. Chrono Trigger One of the most consistent scores in terms of quality, and is just filled to the brim with charmingly evocative themes. My all-time favourite. 2. Shenmue...

    First video game

Either Super Mario Land or Tetris on the original Game Boy bought in 1990, can't recall which one was included in the bundle. Ah...the good ol' monotonous beeps and blips.

The Most Malicious and Sadistic Video Games of All Time [OPINIONS]

SNK have a reputation for churning out masochistic fighting games with notoriously cheap CPU opponents. Notable examples are the Art of Fighting game series and Real Bout Fatal Fury Special where the A.I. were rigged as hell. Worst being the bosses, these guys are just flat out vicious to say...

    Playstation Shadow Hearts series

While I agree that the 2nd game had a more refined combat system and far superior production values, a lot of the charm from the original was lost in translation. Storywise, the first one was better and the characters definitely interest me more in that game to the point where I actually cared...

    PC Red Alert 2

8.9/10 I've never had so much fun blowing up an enemy's base in a Command & Conquer game than this one. The sheer joy and pride that comes when you defeat your friends in multiplayer mode has never been so great. Undoubtedly, the best RTS game I've ever played so far. Oh and…the lieutenants...

    Nintendo Mario 64

Star-collecting was pure joy and the unique multiple-mission style of gameplay looked fresh at the time. Each challenge set for acquiring the stars were really well thought out and felt rewarding upon completion especially the 100 coin ones. There were some levels that left a very deep...

    Favorite Anime

Ranma ½ One of the greatest anime I've ever watched as a kid. It revolves around a 16 yr old boy named Saotame Ranma and his hardships of living in a cursed body, changing into girl when getting in contact with cold water and back to his male self when doused with hot water. In addition to...

Multiple Platforms Anyone play Dragon Quest?

DQVIII is the only DQ game I've ever played and it's about time PAL gamers got their hands on it. The storyline on the whole was entertaining and the skill development system gives you freedom of choice to build your characters the way you want them, though their jobs shouldn't change. The...

    Knot of Rust

I think the sole purpose of these KoRs is to power up the dmg level of a Dark Matter, which caps at 60K I believe. The Dark Matter's dmg is equivalent to the cumulative dmg dealt using the KoRs on enemies. But after you've used a piece of Dark Matter, the counter will reset back to 0.

Things That Tick You Off about gaming

Ones from the top of my head: - Europe being a low priority region for, but not limited to, RPG companies. - Fanboyism. Particularly those disturbingly devoted Halo followers who jizz their pants at every new screenshot of Master Chief that is unveiled once in a while. - Incompetent...

    Your first RPG....?

I don't know if I should count Zelda - A Link to the Past as the first one, as it's alleged to be an action/adventure game. It's strange since ironically, I've been one of those people who grew up believing that Zelda games are classified as RPGs. So I'm going with either Harvest Moon GB or...

    Sidequests & my blood pressure

The tasks set for some of the Sigils were ridiculous, whoever came up with them deserves to be shot. Getting up to about 130 dodges and then get struck was really hard to take, it would've been madness had that occurred in the 190s. Fights with Dark Aeons were devoid of challenge after...

What Did You Think Was The Hardest Game?

I always shudder at the mere mention of 00 Agent Control Center on Goldeneye 007 (N64). I got arse-raped by the sentry drones on many occasions in this area all thanks to their ultra acute sensors and rapid fire. But if that was just for warm ups, then the real nitty-gritty lies in protecting...
