Well, I never touched the format. The files themselves were JPEGs when I downloaded them; don't think they'll uncompress if I just convert them into PNGs. I heavily prefer .PNGs maself, but what can I do :( I guess I could try if Photoshopping them into .PNG helped any, but I'm a tad skeptical...
