wow, i'm surprised that you identify so much with white mages...i'm partial to warriors...i thought most people were.
anyways, my party was a warrior, thief, black mage and white mage. I played it again with a monk, red mage, white mage and warrior.
So far, I haven't played III or XIII. Both of which I want to play.
I also haven't played XI or XIV, and I don't intend to play either.
I haven't played any of the crystal chronicles games either...don't really plan on playing any of those either.
Haven't played Dissidia or crisis core...i...
I know it's not an FF game, but I've gotta say that of all the square games I've played, Chrono Trigger has by FAR the most replay value. 11 new endings available on the second playthrough? And you get to keep all of your stats and equipment? AND you unlock new bonus stuff with each ending...
You've spent hours fighting the hardest boss in the game, and you know you're close. He can't possibly have more than a few hundred more HP. You've got this in the bag! But then, out of nowhere, he hits you with the most badass bomb diggity attack and totally creams your party.
Damn.
So...
CHIP, it's interesting that you bring up positive and negative feedback systems...are you a bio or maybe a biochem major?
While I agree that there are several feedback systems found in nature that help keep its balance, I disagree in the sense that nature is constantly degrading, whether it be...
I guess my biggest confusion with this theory is regarding its original form. Does it include the idea that the earth is "conscious"? As in, does it consciously make decisions/ choose to create a hospitable environment for its inhabitants? Or is it an unconscious being...like the homeostasis...
ugh yeah that scene in FFX was terrible. i think it might've just been...lost in translation. good video though. the best videos are the short simple ones. love it.
also, if anyone is super confident on the gaia hypothesis, I could use a summary/recap/detailed description of what it is. I just want to make sure my interpretation of the GH is the same as everyone else's.
I totally get what you're saying about the human effect on the Gaia Hypothesis, but I think the way in which GH is used in final fantasy is almost like an NPC. It makes certain choices and events happen that parallel the effects of the characters'. I definitely don't think it downplays the...
I really liked how the conflict in FF7 was portrayed in this essay. He did a good job of explaining how two different viewpoints of mako lead to the shinra-avalanche conflict. it was interesting to see how simply the conflict could be explained.
I think the Gaia hypothesis is truly at the...
Argor you might find this interesting...
I'm hindu, so I might be able to shed some more light on the background of "Shiva". As Argor said, Shiva really bears no resemblance to the Hindu god aside from namesake. Even the ice element has nothing to do with Shiva. Lord Shiva is a male god...
Thanks a lot for the input guys. I really appreciate it.
Here are a couple more details, in case you were interested.
There were about 18 potential candidates there that day. Each candidate was interviewed by a different faculty member, so my guy was only talking to me that day. Everyone...
Interesting picture Argor. Yeah it's clear that they really didn't know what they needed to advertise for the first game. Definitely has a D&D style feel. I didn't really consider the dynamic of mirror images. Like the mirror of Squall with Seifer. That makes a lot more sense now. Still...
So I decided to take a look at these plain covers you redcoats have been talking about. I like em. Real classy. Besides, the logos for each installment kinda give you a taste of what the game may be about. I also like the continuity. Kinda gives the entire series an overarching connection...
Yeah, sorry bout that. I forgot that a lot of the people on this forum played the European releases. with FFVIII's european release, makes so much more sense without seifer. with that cover of FFX, do you guys really think Auron belongs on there? He even says in the game that it's "your...
