He probably heard a rumour about it, or he just made that up. Penance has no direct relation the FFX storyline, it's only an optional boss. Closest you can say is that Penance appeared as a penance for daring to reject Yevon.

I did, first playthough on Hard. :cool: It was hard saving the cash, sacrificing experience and other upgrades, but I got through eventually, with the help of the selling of items like Limit and Elixirs. And the Ultima was pretty sweet! You only get to upgrade it halfway through Chapter 8. ;)

You really should start on the series then. You'll know how it all started and went wrong, and you'll know more about Skeith as well. They made a smart move by increasing the magnitude by tenfold for each passing series(don't count Legend of the Twillight).

I don't think it's stupid, well it is in a sense, but it's not much of a loss since summons early game isn't really all that helpful. And I rarely use summons when playing FFVII, even if the damage's good, the animation's too long. MP cost is pretty high too, if compared to magic.

I haven't been playing much actually, and the only one I've been playing is the Re: Chain of Memories, on Proud. Well.. maybe I should skip that and start on KHFM+ Kouli did a pretty good guide on it on GameFAQs, I could use that as a reference.
