That is quite a tricky part of the game. I noticed the difficulty suddenly rose when I went there, and that's considering I visited most of the bonus parts just before going to the tower (I had to check with the walkthrough though to see which bonuses parts there were in the game). So I'd advise...
I quite like Cid in V. Now I haven't played every FF game yet, so I can't give a definite opinion, but I prefer V's Cid to VI's Cid since he seems to play a bigger part and is kinda more helpful.
And yep I agree, VII's Cid is amazing. One of my favourite characters in the game.
I definitely...
I got to this part yesterday and I fell in love. I love epic parts like that. The whole big bridge battle was great and the song complemented it really really REALLY well. I can't stop listening to this tune now. I really can't. I have a craving.
I won't say this part stands out with its...
Clash on the Big Bridge - I can't stop listening to that epic song. Up to how far I've gotten into the game right now, that's at the moment my favourite part.
Hehe, I don't have anything against Terra. If we're talking about annoying angsty characters, then a good example would be Bella Swan from Twilight series. But Terra actually has good reasons to angst. That is the difference. Terra lost a lot more and because she actually IS different she...
I would agree with Argor. I think it is indeed to do with symbolism of being Godly. And I think the fact that he has only one wing makes him somewhat of an outcast to all the angels, perhaps a fallen angel even.
I quite like the game. The job system is pretty fun and it makes you curious to try out all the different combinations, even though some of the characters favour str over magic while others vice versa, making some jobs redundant for some characters. Still though a fun game, even though it does...
Ah I didn't know FFV was so popular in Japan. It just seems whenever I stumble on anything FF related on the web, many imply that FFV is the weakest FF game, or among the weakest. I am trying it out now, and although it's not bad at all, the characters don't have much depth to them. Yeah, VII...
I noticed a similarity between these three themes:
FFIV Dungeon theme

FFVII Who am I?

What do you think?
Does anyone else absolutely LOVE Kefka's crazy laughter? It's so funny because it happens all of a sudden in many parts of the game and then BAM some crazy surprise from the man himself. I enjoyed that laughter so much that I set it as one of the sounds for my msn. So now whenever someone from...
Yeah, I've gathered that they step in in order when someone goes out, but you know if you have an ideal team to face Kefka, how do you guarantee that the right amount of previous characters step out, so that when it comes to Kefka you have your ideal team facing him?
Awesome. I am surprised...
I see most of you have similar favourites. Does no-one like Sabin's Blitzes and Cyan's Bushido? Those tend to be battle winners for me for most of the game. It's only when I got -aga spells and Ultima that magic became more powerful in my party.
I was also wondering, how do you manage to...
I like Vincent, but then again, I love every playable FFVII character except for Yuffie and Cait Sith. I like Vincent because he is stylish, dark, mysterious and independent. He is equivalent to Amarant from FFIX and Shadow from FFVI.
Sorry for yet another thread in just 2 days, but I just completed the game and was wondering which parties did other people allocate their characters to and also which order for the final fight.
Since my best characters were Sabin, Celes, Cyan and Terra, my good characters were Locke, Edgar...
Just completed it for the first time, and I have to say, I was blown away by its awe. Yes, the game is merely in 2D graphics, but that does not stop its message from getting through to you.
First of all - the characters. The characters are really deep, and you end up caring for them a lot (I...
Favorite Character: Sabin
Favorite Male Character: Sabin
Favorite Female Character: Celes
Favorite NPC character: General Leo (Ultros being a close second)
Favorite Weapon: Hawkeye (Just love how you can hit with it and throw it, plus it looks cool)
Favorite Desperation Attack: Will get back to...
Terra's theme was a pretty great track for the world map. Though I like the 'Searching for friends' track too that plays after you get the airship.
Looks like I've collected all of the friends now, and the new characters. But darn, there is quite a lot of bonus stuff to do before going to fight...
Kuja is one of the 'cool' villains for me. That is the reason why I like him. Kefka on the other hand is not cool at all, but he is a great villain because of how insane and crazy he is (reminds me of Joker from Batman). Sephiroth would be a bit in between for me, although closer to Kuja perhaps.
You're not Alone is the favourite of mine, because of how emotional it is, especially during the part of the game it plays. The best friendship themed song I've ever heard.
Very close runner-ups would be:
Black Mage village, Loss of me, Steiner's theme (a rather cool but comical theme, suiting...
Still More Fighting (boss theme) is my definite favourite, but many many others come close. Those would be:
Fighting (it never gets old), Aeris' theme (like many mentioned already), Cid's theme (it's so inspirational), ShinRa theme and ShinRa army wages a full scale attack (both are nice...
