Oh, I didn't even notice.
I really don't know... I'm going to guess between 40 and 60? I'm sure someone else could give you a better answer. I got all 108 in this game (and IV - I tried in III, but I only got about 100), so I don't remember what the default would have been for just characters...
Loved them! I liked playing through the past storyline instead of having it told to me. I really liked going through the game with Squall and then seeing places I explored in a flashback. "Aw, I remember this!" And the battle theme was amazing.
Oddly... that's exactly how I see it, only because of the power aspect. If two consenting adults get into a relationship, even if one is 54 and the other is 24, that's their business. But if the 54-year-old is a boss or a professor, I just can't help thinking there's the possibility of abuse of...
The whole headmaster vs. Garden Master part of FF8 is easily the worst part for me. The whole thing just felt like, "...Why? Who is the Garden Master? Why are we doing this?" It felt so tedious. And I didn't like the music, either.
But after that the Garden started to fly, so I didn't care.
I really liked Chocobo racing more the first time through. I just did it again about a month ago and it seemed more tedious than anything.
My favorite sidequest is probably getting Vincent in the Shinra Mansion. Combine that with the Cloud/Zack scenes in the basement and Shinra Mansion is one...
I know this had been said, but... those Chocobos are looking epic.
I wonder if this is something that gets upgraded automatically over time, or if it can be manually changed like normal weapons.
Friday? Can't wait. Yeah, it's definitely going to be sometime in 2010, but it's looking like early 2010, so that's not long at all. I don't think it'll be hard to shield myself from spoilers from the Japanese version.
Yes... they brought back Alexander! One of my favorite old summons we haven't seen in a while. From what little I know about Hope, it does seem fitting. I can't wait for more scans.
I really liked his work in FFX. I thought his and Junya Nakano's songs in that game were better than Uematsu's.
I'm loving the Chocobo theme right now. It's quick and and jazzy, and I think it might end up being my favorite in the series.
Ahaha, maybe that's why I like it so much.
'Cause War of the Lions is BOSS.
But seriously, I have heard disappointing things from people I know that have the game. It's not a bad game, it's just not all that they hoped it would be (especially with the character selection). I don't know if this had anything to do with it, but Dissidia...
I loved the Sphere Grid! It looks like each character gets his/her own grid instead of everyone being a part of a big grid, like in FF10. In that case, I wonder what the differences are among the grids.
I'm so excited... every time something new gets revealed I'm a little more impressed by this...
I think Yun Fang looks really attractive... I'm planning on using her for my Halloween costume next year, haha.
The battle screens make me think the battles are going to be very quickly paced in this game. I'm a little intimidated, but I'm excited to figure it all out.
Awesome, you picked Suikoden 5! Let us know how it goes. Let me know how long it takes you, too - that was one of those games that took me 90+ hours to complete.
MP conservation is part of a strategy, so as long as the game introduces another strategic aspect to replace that, I'm fine with no MP. I used to fool myself into believing the story was the most important part of an RPG for me, but now I realize there are plenty of RPGs I've played with...
I didn't think much of Quistis revealing her "feelings" to Squall when I first played the game (because I really liked Quistis and I was in middle school), but now, yes, I do think it's really awkward. Whenever I play through that part of the game now I cringe through the whole Training Center...
I guess I'm in the minority... I really liked the Kalm Town flashback scenes.
But I agree with what everyone else said otherwise. Think of Midgar as the "tutorial" for the game. That's where you learn about the game's world, how to work the battle system, and stuff like that. So really, the...
