How will we know if we don't like a game if we don't play it? I didn't like FFXIII, but I bought FFXIII-2 because FFX-2 was a massive departure from FFX, and was hoping for something equally as radically different.
We're fans, we buy the games, it's what we do. An online community like this one...
My girlfriend and I just bought a ton of books from Waterstones at the weekend. My haul included...
The Demolished Man - Alfred Bester
Childhood's End - Arthur C. Clarke
Neuromancer - William Gibson
2312 - Kim Stanley Robinson
A Clash of Kings - George R. R. Martin
Ender's Game - Orson Scott...
Books, easily. I bought a Kindle about 2 years ago, which I have about 3 novels of my own on there. I have lent it to a few people, who have all got their own titles on there, and they have all used it more than I have.
I might be stuck in the past, but you can't beat a good book. Furthermore...
I echo the sentiments of those stating Seymour at Gagazet. Another one which really gets me is the battle aboard the airship, Evrae Altana.
Surprisingly, after years of getting stuck at the above two bosses, on my latest game it was Spectral Keeper which gave me the most bother. I think I was...
It's always been my ambition, but I never got around to getting them all. A good way of getting around the "random" rule is to refine all your cards up to the one-of-a-kinds. But then, you're setting yourself up for hours of work trying to reclaim them later.
The Kalm flashback, the sequence in the reactor, Sephiroth's turn, the thing in the tank escaping... all of it is a little unsettling.
Then Cloud clinging on to his life when he's lost himself at Mideel... with that horrible sound you can hear too. It's absolutely harrowing. Especially when...
I've just mentioned this in another topic. One of the only bugbears I have about FFVII is that Yuffie and Vincent have little to no input in the major scenes and the big group conversations. If they do say anything, a compulsory character will say something which ignores it completely...
Enemy Skill is gamebreakingly useful. Matra Magic early on, coupled with the likes of White Wind, Big Guard, then the big damagers like Beta and Trine are so useful.
Really going out on a limb here, but Heal is prehaps what I find to be the most useful. Only because if you stick it on a double...
When I was a lot younger, a friend of mine let me copy over his file onto my memory card which had a ton of Action Replay cheats loaded onto it. I think basically all the characters had all their limit breaks, and there was a lot of mastered materia already in the inventory. Anyways, this gave...
I always liked Yuffie. She is has the best base magic (after Cloud, who usually becomes my tank, and Aeris, who, you know...), so she has always been one of my main three that I always use.
One thing I don't like about the optional characters is how little they contribute to the bigger scenes...
I have just finished the game for the first time, and my party was Warrior/Monk/White Mage/Black Mage (or rather, their descendents). I didnt realise, or just plain forgot that the Monk/Master is stronger unarmed as early as Lv.10, so at some point around the Waterfall Cavern my quest became...
1 – Storyline development - 3
2 – Graphics - 5
3 – Dialogue - 3
4 – Entertainment - 3
5 – Soundtrack/Music - 2
6 – Gameplay - 3
7 – Battle System - 3
8 – Are you likely to buy next Final Fantasy game? - Yes, the next one that isn't a spin-off.
9 – How did you hear about the game? -...
I have no artistic ability whatsoever, but I'm intruiged to see some of the responses here.
Does anyone feel like doing a water Aeon? It's obvious that given the simplified element system there really should have been one! Maybe an updated Leviathan, or something completely new?
I selected other. I liked the Chocobo breeding aspect of FFVII.
I know it wasn't massively detailed or anything like that, but I loved the idea that I had to go out and find a good pair to breed to get a real race winner, and a lot of love and care went into it all... Maybe I just manufactured...
I don't think going to the moon vs a nonlinear plot to end the game is a valid comparison at all. It's like comparing a piece of chocolate cake to the concept of dinner in general.
Personally, I didn't like the way you had to gather your characters at the end, but that's down to the fact I hate...
Toothache. Nothing on earth compares to it. You could say it is more of a dull pain, contrary to most of the accident related stuff in this topic, but when toothache gets to the worst stages, you just want to kill yourself.
I actually hugged the random dentist we had to get at short notice...
I think Rear Window and Twelve Angry Men are both in my top five movies of all time. I've always had a soft spot for those movies that tend to stay in one place for the vast majority/entirity of the film. Breakfast Club is another that springs to mind (though hardly an old movie compared to...
I'd have to say sports. I always play the Football Manager games to death every year. I buy the new Pro Evolution Soccer game and the Madden game every year too. There are other sports games I play too. I bought Top Spin 4 recently, but didn't play it that much.
1) Cloud
2) Squall
3) Rikku
4) Auron
5) Cecil
6) Balthier
7) Rydia
8) Kain
9) Vanille
10) Steiner
Cloud and Squall are the top 2, because their two games were what got me started on the series. I have spent the most time controlling those two characters, and so I feel a lot more affection...
Yeah, that would be a good idea. I liked what they tried to do in FFX-2 with it, the gameplay of FFX-2 was more than worthy of being from a main series game, let alone a spin-off.
I think FFXV should be very respectful of its predecessors, almost like a throwback FF kind of like FFIX was.
