I agree with the fact that VIII is largely underrated. When you say Final Fantasy, most people seem to think of VII. (From personal experience) I think FFVII is more renowned due to the movie based on it, and the various remakes.
Love it. It was my first, and favorite FF to date. Was also coincidentally my first game on a system other than a gameboy. I seriously can't find any flaws with this game, other than the graphics of the PS1.
I would love to see a remake. Firstly, because it would be simply amazing with improved graphics since PS1 graphics are a bit lacking. I love everything about this game...the storyline, the battle system, the characters. A remake would be better than a birthday/christmas present!
