I heard the game isn't hard as much as it is cheap. Also, I heard the AI is inconsistent, ranging from stupid to 'holy-f***-it's-brilliant'. There's at least one boss that you have to be COMPLETELY illogical to beat and the game is buggy as hell later on. I'd say the glitches kick in about...
My problem with the voice-acting in FF's is that Square-Enix OBVIOUSLY puts way too much money into CGI, and not enough for proper writing or voice actors. I'm no Japanophile purist. I do watch my animes both dubbed and subbed, depending on which version i prefer for which series. My point is...
Before you start looking for all the stuff he listed, just know his list is the entire series so far, not exclusive to PSone and PS2 like you wanted. My list covers those platforms only and the spinoffs most tightly related to Final Fantasy.
The title of the thread is rather misleading. xD
Currently Playing: Final Fantasy Anthology for PlayStation. Specifically, I'm focusing on FF V, since I never really played much of it. The characters aren't that interesting to me, but I'm doing fine.
Final Fantasy Origins (FF I and II remakes)
Final Fantasy Chronicles (FF IV, ChronoTrigger bundled with it, remakes)
Final Fantasy Anthology (FF V and FFVI remakes)
Final Fantasy VII

Final Fantasy IX

System Shock 2
You like Dead Space? You like BioShock? You like Doom 3 (god forbid)? The System Shock series is the inventor of the plot-driven horror shooter. And the second game specifically is a forgotten classic. The Cyberpunk themes mixed with horrific environments and heavy PC RPG...
The Lovely Little List of Dislike
Nickelback - Back in the day, I liked this band. Well, back around the first and second albums. But it seems like their sound never freaking evolves. Their songs sound so much alike, I often confuse five songs together at once. Their songs are catchy at first...
*blinks* Do you people not READ? They said they've seen the scenes before. And besides, I feel the fact that it's FF X excuses it perfectly, it's not like any characters or voice actors/actresses in that game deserve to win any awards, and it had a flawed story in the first place. So to force...
MegaTen Franchise
Assuming you're bigger on JRPGs than western RPGs, this series is Japanese RPG Series that can serve as a nice gateway to the western counterparts, much like Dragon Quest/Dragon Warrior, which Zerokku suggested. Gameplay-wise, almost all the games are turn-based in combat. The...
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Opinion: I would be one of the first to tell you I LOVE the Harry Potter books.
Well... The first six, anyway. Though I can't really help but feel like the seventh and final book was pretty much gipped out of all its potential substance by the six book...
Didn't realize it'd been so long since I posted poetry here! This calls for a poetry dump! ;P
My Heart
Here is my heart...
Take it,
You wanted it so much...
I hope I never see it again,
Because all it ever causes me
Is grief...
It's not like I deserved any of it.
All I do is hope,
All I do is...
I don't think it'll be rated M or have any necessarily darker material than any of the previous FF's have already touched on. If it is, it would likely be forced into an M rating by Squeenix's own decisions, like uncensored cursing. Other than that, I believe they wouldn't do anything else to...
Oh, God... The soundtracks, the visuals... A nice concept is already shat upon. Great job, Squeenix, I'll stick to the ORIGINAL Dungeon Keeper, thx. There's no potential for awesomeness here.
I have to agree with cutscenes in most cases unless a game's cast is EXTREMELY well-defined. For example, I would disagree with Lost odyssey having too many CGI cutscenes because the characters were well defined, and that with one of the best Nobuo Uematsu sondtracks, made the game more...
Basically, It's Dungeon Keeper/Evil Genius. Squeenix must really be running out of ideas... Still, it seems like an intriguing concept for a Final Fantasy sidegame to FINALLY place you in the role of a villain... Though I bet they'd place a few elements in the game to ruin that idea somehow.
Developers always say that to cheer up their most pissant audience. I highly doubt FF VS XII couldn't be converted to 360 easily. They just don't want to give the impression that they're leaving Sony completely behind. After all, if they did that, PS3 would have no Squeenix exclusives while 360...
