It's pretty hard to substantiate the argument that earlier FF games or JRPGs in general were made for all nations. These days we're very lucky to get as many games localized as we do, and thanks to the internet we are aware of games in other regions we otherwise would have no idea even exist...

You're not doing anything wrong, the black envelope will actually only show if you've read every post in a given thread.
